I'd say Harry Potter and Kite Runner for now. I don't see how any book can change my life until the next major read comes along. Lessee what them folks come up with next. I also read other fine books. I find a book that does change my life I'll return here and let y'all know, so watch this space for me. I'm in the Big Time.

I think Gullivers Travels by Johnathon Swift is a very good book, still relevant today. We read it at school. It made me begin to understand politics.

Probably the stongest impression was left by "Kotlovan" Andrei Platonov,"Doctor Zhivago" Boris Pasternak and "The man who is laughing" by Victor Hugo

Never read Hugo's "Laughing Man", mostly because I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy. I've read everything else of Hugo's, though. He is truly one of the greats. Can't stand his leftist politics, however. Do you like "The Toilers of the Sea"? There's a pretty new translation of the book that is just stunning. An incredible, heart-rending, one-sided love story. By the way, since you like Dr. Zhivago, have you ever read "We the Living", by Ayn Rand? It's roughly in the same vein. Highly recommended.

I love Oblomov, probably because I suffer from Oblomovitis. What do you think of Gogol?

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.

I thought that A Moveable Feast was post-humously compiled, not even Hemingway's title, just blurbs of work tapped out at 5am in Key West.
