It matters a bit to me - but only in that celebrity deaths due to HIV often result in increased awareness of the disease, and as a reminder to those who are at risk. It also matters a bit if the death was indeed caused by HIV, but was covered up due to shame on the part of the family. (Shame being a contributing factor in the spread of this disease.) Other than that; no - I agree - it doesn't matter. A death is still a death.

Bernie Mack died of the same thing..instead of concentrating on the AIDS angle,we should be looking at our rampant antibiotic abuse and the likelyhood that pneumonia is becoming resistant to them as a result..combine that with a weakened immune system and you're history..That fact should scare EVERYONE!

I'd like to know why when anyone hears the word "pnemonia" mentionned with a person, usually male, they immediately say "was it AIDS"?. How revolting to automatically assume it was AIDS related. Broaden your horizons and realize that pnemonia is not what kills all AIDS patients!
