A NEWSMAX online article reported that when OSAMA
BIN LADEN had been killed, the military reported to
its leaders in Washington D.C., "GERONIMO HAS BEEN KILLED!"
The great Apache Nations of these United States, hereby,
demand that the U.S. Government make a public apology to
the name Geronimo, and Geronimo - a great Apache leader!
AND, as an apologetic act, the great Apache Leader, Geronimo,
Should be returned to his beloved homeland - Arizona!
He was punished by the U.S. Government, who sentenced him
to be exiled away from his Arizona homelands. He was
punished for defending Arizona's Apache country, from
land-grabbing white men invaders, who were killing Indians
in their pursuit of land and minerals. Geronimo only wanted
freedom for himself and his Apache people, so they could
continue to live free as they had always lived, before the
invasion by white men. But, the
U.S. Military finally took him prisoner and exiled him to
Florida. After he died, most probably from a broken heart
from missing his home - Apache country - he was still denied
a return to Arizona and was buried in the state of Oklahoma,
where he had been relocated from Florida. He spent all his
confinement years longing to see and hoping to return to his
beloved Apache country in Arizona, and died still hoping.
Geronimo was one of the greatest leaders of his tribe on this
North American continent. Many books, publications, movies, etc.
have been written and films made of this great leader of the Apache.
Now, the
name and person, Geronimo, has been humiliated and his descendants
offended by this uncalled-for comparison by a U.S. military man to
the "evil"-likes of Osama Bin Laden. However,
the greater offense was placed on the great Apache leader's name
by this man's higher-ups, those that used the name "Geronimo" as a
"code-name" for Osama Bin Laden. These high-ranking U.S. Military
officers defiled the great name of Geronimo. Geronimo, Geronimo's
name, his descendants, & all the Apache Nations deserve a public
apology from the U.S, government for this insult to the name of a
great Native American leader of the Apache tribe. Military men,
foolishly, used the name of "Geronimo" as OBL's "code-name" when
they probably didn't know anything about Geronimo as being a great
Apache leader! Yet, these, apparently, foolish and ignorant
high-ranking military officers dared to put Geronimo in the same
category as the evil fiend, Osama Bin Laden, a terrorist and a killer
of innocent women and children! Therefore, as part of a public
apology from our U.S. Government to Geronimo,AND to the name of
"Geronimo". AND to all the great Apache nations AND, to the
descendants of Geronimo, one of the greatest leaders of the
Apache people Geronimo should be allowed a return to the land
he fought for and, if you will, died for, back to the land of
the Apache in Arizona, back to the land of "GERONIMO"!

How odd to compare these two men, two different countries, two different religions and two different time periods. Am glad Geronimo's descendant took action on behalf of his ancestor. Afterall, his kin was a Native American, born and raised in this country and proud of his heritage Unlike the other....ROCK ON!
