Hello!
I was very impressed with your knowledge of the subject discussed
here on this forum.
I write an article about Chihuahua and Jolsanie. Could you maybe help me in finding
the work of Gillett Griswold "The Fort Sill Apaches" which not been published yet?
Thank you

Capitan Xuilo, as an old woman I might go any time so it's of the utmost importance you know this: there are many of us on the rez who have had stories of geronimo handed down to us. We were told that along with being an adept leader & fighter, he was also cruel & vicious..but what bothers me most is this story about the time he and his men stopped between Bylas & San Carlos and he saw some women he liked, he just raped them! So we know the good-the bad-the ugly about him. Sometimes when I am asked what tribe I'm from, I just name the first tribe that comes to my mind. If you research San Carlos and Whiteriver court records from the 1900's and on, you will find that very little has changed. Apaches still feel that rape is ok and the girl asked for it by her attire and being in the wrong place at the wrong time...oh I digress...back to Geronimo: As you can see, we have very mixed emotions about him. I, personally would like to hear more stories about the natives in san carlos who lived it, survived it, and looked toward the future for their children...they are the REAL heroes in my opinion. P.S. My great-grandfather Andrew Kidde was one of them.
