First of all Geronimo was no saint. He murdered many people in both Mexico and the US. I am sure the reason that name was given to Bin Laden was due a special force that was created to hunt him down and either capture him or kill him. Sound familiar, doesn't it.
Supposedly he died when he fell off a horse after getting drunk in Lawton next door to Fort Sill and laid there all night before being found.

President Obama, under no circumstances should any apology be forth coming.
yeah sure

I have to side with the indians on this one. I think the code name for bin laden should have been coward. I don't think Geromino was a coward, but we do know that the piece of crap that just met his end by the hand of the seals is a coward.

dan you must be kidding..geronimo was a great warrior and a mass murderer in fact the similarities between osama bin ladin and geronimo are great exept bin ladin wasnt a drunk and he had more money than geronimo although i think bin ladin killed more people but no scalps oh well the world is a better place without either of them..

LOL, I'm pretty sure the Apache don't give a darn about Sand Creek and Wounded Knee, mostly because...THEY WEREN'T INVOLVED!

Sand Creek involved Cheyenne
Wounded Knee involved Sioux

Not every Native American is the same. There are different tribes and even within a tribe there are many many many subtle layers For instance the term "Sioux" actually refers to at least half a dozen unique "tribes".

So you can save your arrogant apologies about which you obviously know nothing.

And it's probably worth noting that some of the military's best weapons are named after Native American Tribes. The Comanche? The Apache? The Kiowa?

With chronic alcoholism, child abuse, poverty, corrupt government on reservations, its clear that this geronimo's name is the real issue american indians need to make a stand on.

So, christians should object every time someobody bad is called matthew, mark, luke, or john...

I think this is another situation where a group of people are deciding to be offended because they can.

I do not believe the name Geronimo was used in this situation to offend the Apaches. And why are Indians from other tribes sticking their nose into this? It would be as if Canada felt offended at something and Mexico decided to get involved.

Your "people" were one or two different decisions away from being wiped off the face of the Earth. Congratulations, some of you are still around, shut up and enjoy your freedom. We don't care about your centuries old issues.

The difference between hero and terrorist depends on if you win your struggle or not. To the British we were terrorists and to the Indians we were terrorists. Ask a Palestinian if they think that Israeli's are terrorists. We won, they lost. Move on.
