I seem to remember when a show was giving him a lifetime achievement award and there was more than Bubba on the stage sitting with he and Norma. Wasn't it a girl?? They had no more children after Bubba? I have researched the San Marcus newspaper and cannot find one thing on Jenifer's accident. I too have lost a child and find this interesting and would like to find out more. How do Norma cope? Just curious.

No, they never had another child and Bubba is only child now. The city is San Marcos (not Marcus). George didnt take the accident well. There's record of him admitting years later that it made him very private and kinda shut down. Due to the City of SM really questioning George and Norma as fit parents as well as them having to see the cross (which still stands today) every time they leave their house, they decided to move to San Antonio.(where they live today) George NEVER liked speaking of the accident. Those that knew him before accident will say it really did change him.
To clear things up...Alcohol was not involved in accident. Baby Blue was not written by George and has only been rumored that was about her. There is still a fund in her name that collects donations which goes to several charities including city of San Marcos.

I have been a George Strait fan for years. I would just like to give him my condolences. I never knew anything about his family but at times in some of his songs you could hear the pain in his voice. I would also like to say to the driver that i know it is hard to live with, knowing that a life was lost. Life does go on but you never really get rid of the memory (talking from experience.)

I've always been a fan of the music but am not one to learn about their lives. I was at his concert on Friday when he announced that he had become a grandfather. I only then because curious about his life and found out about his daughter. I was too young when this happened to learn of it at the time. I did a search and found an article, it lists all the names and about the event. Three others in the car, all males, ages 16, 17 and 18. No alcohol involved and it states she was partially ejected. I tired finding a website for the foundation but have only found sites that mention it. If someone has a link for the foundation, please post it.

Jennifer was killed in a car wreck. It was an accident and I am amazed at the speculation and the idea that it was anything more than an accident. She was 13 if she had not been with a friend they trusted to drive her do U think she would have been their. It was an accident and a parents worse nighmare but, we all have to give our children wings to grow and live. On this ill fated day the Lord need a special angel and he took Jennifer home. Everyone on this sight need to give it a rest. The accident is a matter of public records. I believe this should be so hurtful for the Strait family. Their r areas of the internet that make no sense. I knew George years ago and he and his family deserve everyone to let go and look to the future rather than being groopies and digging around into a tragic day in this families life. Just because he is a star gives no one the right to speculate and just post at will anything they desire. Shame on all those who posted crazy false information, and Thank God for those who knew the truth and set them straight. It has been twenty five years let it go! Or quitely check what u must but don't continue to be rude and guess or speculate. Words hurt. No one care or love this little girl as her family!!! All of her family!!!

This is true. You can check the San Marcos paper, if you doubt it.

For many years there was a large wooden cross on Hunter Road where Jenifer was killed. There were always fresh flowers or wreath with the cross. I always assumed the Strait family had a local florist keep flowers there at all times. This cross was there until Hunter Road was widened. I have always wondered what was done with the cross. Does anyone know?
