George Strait says all his exs live in Texas, but a new survey shows it's also home to the ugliest guys in the U.S. Specifically, the men who live in El Paso.

it is sad and pathetic that the news says el paso has ugly men. thats not being entirely true and fair to the men who live here. yes some are not on the top ten rankings but it doesnt mean their heart or personality is just as ugly. our society today is caught up on plactic surgery and looking better with less fat to improve the outside for all to see and judge. the studies where based off of health figures, not actual looks. if people were so concerned about how el pasoans look on the outside and eat, why not change the resturants around here to healthy food and non fat, greasy burger joints and all. its impossible. a lot of business would go down and owners who are trying to pay mortgage for their fam and bring food home would go broke. its bad enough the economy has gotten bad. people are going to live their life the way the feel comfortable living and eating what they want. that's the beauty of this country. but when studies say there are ugly guys in el paso, thats when you know these people have ran out of stuff to research. why dont they go and research on how to produce more vaccines for the h1n1 or cures for cancer. let people live the life they choose to live and stop hurting these men's ego's. im sure they are sweet and kind inside, whats on the outside shouldnt matter. great marriages are because people see past the looks and go for the heart and soul. not some shallow person looking for only a handsome man to marry or vis versa, they'd have a loveless marriage. thats not love.everyone has something beautiful about them. people are just to shallow and vain to put down the mirror and see. keep true to yourselves guys. your not ugly. as long as you hold a smile on your face and your eyes smile too, you're look will be great.

well cookie, have you ever thought that you may hold those qualities too? or are you saying that because you havent found someone who is willing to look past your low self esteem and bad attitutde. or can it be because one man ruined something the two of you had, and now you think their all the same. dont let one man rouine it for the rest. your not going to find prince charming at a bar or club. its unfair of you to say "all men in el paso are the most ugliest creatures. the worst men of all." because i have seen some really handsome men and young men. your looking on the outside and not the inside, the heart! its true how someone may be the least attractive looking, but there personality is amazingly beautiful, or the guy may be handsome, but they can be so full of themselves or rude and obnoxious, it can make them appear to be ugly. its like a win/lose situation. but the same goes for women too. try looking past the exterior and search their heart or compassion they may have. their is always a good quality in every man regarless whats on the outside.

I've lived here my whole life (41 yrs.) and I agree with the ranking. I've traveled around the country and I've always noticed how good looking men (and women) are in other places. The men in this town are beer loving, fat and pretty dumb. Remember, the ranking mentioned not completing high-school as a criteria. Have you ever watched the local news? When people are interviewed on the street, most can barely form a sentence!
I'll probably get a lot of criticism for what I wrote, but I don't care. It's a true stereo-type. I don't think it was that bad when I was younger (70's and 80's), but it's gotten worse over the years.
For those of you that want to tell me to leave town, I will say - we're planning on it. It's our goal.

Right down to it, there is no benefit in finding your "man" here in El Paso. Usually they are abusive alcoholics and now they are the ugliest guys you can get lol.

I have one daughter and one son. They're still young, but I have to consider their future. I can't imagine the dating pool in about 5-10 years (in this town)! Where have all the white folks gone?...I'm hispanic, but I prefer white, or Euro. hispanics. Tex/Mex is just so.....

I know, I was just playing along with the article. Thanks for the pick-me-up though ;). I agree with your comment that they "just needed a city to pick on". They figured that El Paso is an easy target, and that we would "look the other way" on this topic. I admit, there is some obesity here and most guys do not take care of themselves (so whats new), and the mean education level they quoted is a low blow in my opinion and yet very difficult to prove. As a border town,(on top of illegal immigration) we receive quite a few legal migrants that are looking for jobs and a chance to move up in life without a high school education. People have to start somewhere, and for many they get their chance here in El Paso. Its easy to pick on a border town when you have shallow expectancies.

Wow, what a statment! Mam/Sir, you if you are preaching this to your children, you are breeding hate and racism in their lives. In my book that is child abuse. You should be more inclined to hope that your children grow into respectful adults, and are lucky find someone that would love and respect them for the rest of their lives. I hope they would select someone over other important traits other than the color of their skin or the culture of their counterpart. Does it matter if they choose a hispanic, African American, or Chinese mate over a white mate? If it does then I feel sorry for you.

I didn't put down other ethnicities. I believe one's physical appearance and education are important (and that is what this survey targets). My mother is Mexican, my father is Spanish, so I am as Hispanic as you can get. I think with ANY race you should put some effort into your physical appearance and be educated as much as you can. It's about having some self-worth. It's not even a money issue either. My upbringing was/is middle-class, but we had class.

My point is that the prevalent attitude in this town (which happens to be mostly Hispanic) is "I don't give a sh*t if I'm a loser". Isn't that what this survey is saying?

My point about whites, is that it's a fact that many have left over the years. I wonder why..

attractive to me. we just broke up for different
reasons. his attidude and the way he express himself. i was married before to a very attractive
man. he was from another country. we got divorce, it was my mistake. it could of been 8 years. i do miss him so much. i still love him too. very kind
