"Its nice to see a girl playing mariachi! How long have you been playing?" With such a strong history of female participation in the mariachi tradition, it is no wonder that we have passed generations of tests with flying colors. Women mariachis have had to equal with that of men in musical technique and performance, in physical stamina, and triumph over social stereotypes. Some of us did it for the pure love of mariachi music and others to challenge the norms. Whereas fifty years ago, mariachi music was a tradition that was passed on from father to son, we now see mariachi families, mother and father, teaching their children about the music. Keep up the good work, young lady. You're going places. Might not be with George Strait, but it's a start. Again, congrats!!

Its all just jealousy mija. If you don't know what really happened then don't talk. She is great and all of you low lives just like to put all of these talented young adults down. So whoever wrote this you can talk all you want but it doesn't matter. GOOD LUCK mija!

What's the matter "lmfao", did you come in a strong second? Give her the benefit of the doubt man. She deserves credit where credit is due. I heard her play trumpet on channel 3 and there is certainly nothing wrong with the way she plays her trumpet. Look at it this way, she's going places. You and i are staying home. How do you like that?

Indeed, Hebbronville has had alot of damn good trumpet players. As far as i can remember, you had trumpet players like:
Joe Ramos-- class of '67
Leo Perez-- class of '69
Abelardo Salazar-- class of '70
Mando Garza-- class of '72
Abelardo Perez-- class of '72
Adan Perez-- class of '72
Hector Carreon-- class of '72
Carlos Gallardo--class of '73
Joe Lopez--class of '73
Nato Ramirez--class of '72
and last but not least, the newcomer mariachi star.--class of ????
The list is rather long, but as you can see, alot of talent came from this small town of Hebbron. Even as far back as '67.

If you were brought up to love and to pray for those who have nothing else to do and critisize others, why are you laughing at the fact that these people are low lifes and druggies? Perhaps you didn't mean to say that but, Get the good book out and pray for these individuals. Practice what you were taught to do and not critisize. Remember what you said; "En las manos de dios". This means you too.
