Were we at teh same festival? Brubeck played Duke Ellington almost exclusively. One tune from Time Out and it was a shortened rendition of Take Five. As much as I love and adore him, it was not sa celebration of Time Out.

I second all those comments about missing Charlie Lang's booth not being there. I hear Best Buy demanded the festival not have him and it capitulated. Also, I felt Brubeck and his back ups were fabulous and brought that magic from the past of the festival to the sacredness of Sunday night. I am blown away on how the old is fresh and alive when the mastership of Dave and friends consecrated the festival, proving how he can still make magic happen to so many!
Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, and Lenny White were phenomenal, with Chick saying..."can we still remember this , guys?" when letting loose with the old Return To Forever sounds they did.
