Metro, did Gary and Cassie really marry for sure?
All you gotta do is read the news topics on the internet, you got a computer that will tell you just about everything. Gary Chapman has been married 3 times now! First to Amy Grant, June 1982 to March 1999 (when Amy filed for divorce) final in June of 1999.
Gary's sencond wife whom he married not too long after Amy married Vince in 2000; Gary & Jennifer Pittman married in July of 2000, and divorced in 2007. Again, Gary married National Champion Cheerleader Cassie Piersol on December 22, 2008 (can you hear GOd telling Gary, yes, go for this great cheerleader..LOL). Why are these people who say they believe in GOD, outright ignoring what is written in the Bible? How can they stand on stage and sing christian songs to uplift fellow believers, when they don't really have faith in the scriptures themselves. They believe that GOD says it's ok for divorce and remarriage; they totally ignore the
commandment "Thou shalt not commit adultery". They also believe
that GOD has forgiven them and others should forgive them too.
It does not work that way, GOD does not make exceptions for His Word! If that were the case, we could say the same thing about stealing, even though it's a commandment. Yeah, keep on stealing even though you know it's wrong to do, GOD will forgive you.
We are judged by the Word of GOD, let us hold onto our faith and not sere our conscience with a hot iron. Let us not make shipwreck of our faith.

One of the songs they sang together was called, "Always," on Gary's "Sincerely Yours" album which is now out of print....Gary co-wrote alot of AG's songs, and you can hear him sing backgrounds on several of her lyrics.
Also, Gary & Amy duet on a great John Hiatt song "Love Like Blood" on Gary Chapman's "Everyday Man" -1987. They also duet on a song
"One of Two" on Gary's 1996 "Shelter" cd. Makes me wonder how Amy felt during the recording of "One of Two", it's very deep; knowing about 3 years later she would file for divorce. I almost forgot one of the first songs Gary & Amy dueted, "Got To Let it GO" on Amy's "Age to Age" from 1982.

I'm glad Amy was the Gospel Girl. Sheryl Crow demonstrates no musical exceptionality. Christian artists grew their music mean and lean. The fatuous, often talent-deficient artists of today are heavily engineered. Artists like Madonna, "Lady" Gaga, and Rihanna have sluttified pop music. They are acts, nothing more, and bad acts at that.
Yes, I too am glad that Amy was the the so-called #1 lady of Gospel music, or as the term they use is Contemporay Christian Music. Now, on the other hand, pop icon Sheryl Crow has music diversity in her veins. I just loved how she covered the Carter
Family's "No Depression in Heaven": Sheryl is a lady of talent.
GOD was using Amy Grant in a big way, too bad she didn't let it be.

AG supposedly has a one octave range and is a joke of a guitar player. How in the heck did she get a contract in the first place? Notice that she has never had the success with hubby #2 that she had with #1 because the Vinny man sings and plays circles around her. She finally figured it out and went back to her friend, MWS. I think she has found that the grass isn't greener. It is just different.
Your supposedly is dead wrong; Amy has more than one range, maybe not now; but, she has many ranges. One point is her 1986 duet with Peter Cetera, she had to sing in a higher range than her normal. Amy has sung in lower ranges because the individual she sang with had a higher pitch, case in point is again from 1986,
A christmas album she did with Art Garfunkel; and we all know Art's musical range. I must agree that, Amy's music career was far more better with Gary than Vince, with songwriting and tours.
Amy and Gary got throught their initial problems, and were blessed with children and wonderful songs to sing. Now, it seems that,
the tide rolled in on both Amy and Gary, it is so sad.
How can GOD bless lives that are literally living in sin?
Amy & Gary will have GOD to answer to like everyone else one day.

One cannot overlook the obvious. Vince divorced his wife Janis in 1997 with high hopes of hooking up with Amy afterwards. Amy divorced Gary for the same reason, 2 years after Vince divorced. No sooner was Amy's divorce final that pictures surfaced in magazines of Amy & Vince's romance.
To my knowlegdge, during the recording sessions for Amy's "House of Love" in 1993, Amy and Vince worked many hours together away from their spouses.
There were also video shoots for House of Love song. I believe it was during this time, that the love sparks flew between Amy & Vince. I recall once during interview segment, Amy kissed Vince on the cheek from a comment Vince made about Amy.
Vince & Amy were both in a bind, because they knew that nothing could be done at that time as they were both married. Eventually, a plan was put into affect, the plan obviously was each would divorce their then spouses. When Gary heard the songs that Amy had recorded for her 1997 cd,
Behind the Eyes, Gary's reply to Amy was,"I don't appreciate how I feel when I hear those songs". I believe that Gary knew deep within, that Amy had Vince in mind, and that's who Amy was singing about. Again, it was obvious, divorce came 2 years later. I saw some tv christmas specials with Gary and Amy; in 1995 they kissed on the lips,
but in December of 1997 Gary kissed Amy on the cheek and she did not give a kiss back to Gary. Something wrong was in the air, you could tell.
Again, divorce came a little over a year later.
Divorce was never in GOD's plan, from the beginning it was not so!

Ever notice since Gary & Amy's divorce, that life has not been what they probably expected it would be. As one individual had commented, the grass is not always greener on the other side, how true!
Amy's gospel career in contemporary christian music has dimmed, yes this is sad. Gary has been trying his hand at marriage more than once; and is failing each time.GOD is only an arm's length away as Amy has said, I don't know why they did not fight for their marriage, really fight for it!!
What GOD has joined together, let NO Man put asunder (break up).All that is in the world, to include the lust of the eyes. Did Amy forget her wedding vows when she met Vince? you know where it says, "for better or worse". There is punishment for not obeying GOD's word, especially when you know to do so. Wrong is wrong!!
Amy and Gary's image of what GOD was molding them to be has crumbled; they did not let GOD have it.
They sought advice from others when they should have been on their knees praying together.
Gary's third marriage is kind of a joke if you ask me; I believe he just married this girl for her looks. Come on!! she is a national champion cheerleader. Again, all that is in the world, to include the lust of the eyes. We forget that GOD is watching us.......from a distance as the song says. Blessed are the pure in the heart, for they shall see GOD, this leaves a lot of people out!

This forum is a topic discussion for comments on how people feel and think about the topic. You have automatically assumed that I was a christian; YOU DO NOT KNOW ME!!! I am not here to justify myself to you or anyone for that matter. You don't like what I have to say, well that is your perogative!! And if no one gave a rats behind of what I thought, they would not reply back at all!!
Apparently you do, you seem to care somewhat cuz you replied.
To say that no one gives two craps; you should speak for yourself, and not try to speak for everyone else in the world.
I know you think you're trying to be funny with LOL and haha;
the truth is YOU ARE NOT FUNNY AT ALL!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ETC.
You certainly cannot be a true underdog for Amy, I doubt that Amy
would use the term or phrase "piss off". Amy can speak for her
self anyway, she doesn't need a lowclass underdog to do it for her!

Let me see if I have this right? You're a non-Christian that seems to follow the career/life of Amy Grant and Gary Chapman? I apologize about assuming that you identify as a Christian. A Christian, you clearly are not. Look at this board. I am an underdog for Amy. This board was nothing but a bunch of hateful, Negative Nancys that felt the need to put down and judge Amy. Do you see those same a-holes here today? No! I shut this crap forum down. Yes, me. I drove them all away. Opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one. Spout away but there are very few left here listening. Good luck and God Bless to you, spiritually starved one. Keep throwing stones!

The only negative nancy left is you, after reading so many of your ridiculous comments on other posts.
Like I said, YOU DO NOT KNOW ME! so quit acting like you do. You think you have the power alone to shut down the negativity, believe me, you don't!
You give yourself the credit for driving all those away who step on your precious idol, Amy Grant.
Again, you label me as a spiritually starved one, YOU DO NOT KNOW ME AT ALL!! apparently you fit in the list of spiritually starved, yes, you told on yourself by what you said. You care more for being an underdog 4 Amy than you do for GOD.

OH, and BTW, you have nothing right about me, you are clueless! You continue to assume all the time, and you know nothing at all! Why don't you proof read all of your comments and see how you really feel after you are finished. And while you are at it, write down all of the negative things you have said, you will find that you are just as negative towards Gary Chapman and others.

Did it ever occur to you that people get busy with other things,
becoming runners, expanding their family, volunteer work, regular work, and just don't have time for posting? Then things calm down and people get back to it. You didn't change anything except maybe your own underwear.

Underdog is just a name change for Brian/Hello Kitty and all of his other aliases. Where did you come from, Buck and how did you find your way here?

Still brought Tex onboard. And now Still is gone.

I think this is true but I think divorce was much tougher for Amy...I don't think even his divorce made it easier for her. JMHO. It really doesn't matter anymore. Hope everyone is happy including Janis.
She is back onstage with Vince and Jenny. She plays his kind of music. I think although he talks about AG's beauty, more and more he is wanting a different life. I'd love to see AG gracious enough to share a stage with Gary She had a chance with the Lead Me On tour but begged off. That could have been the LIFT her career needed.

Bottom line: VG fans don't care for AG onstage. AG fans don't care for VG onstage. They'd rather see them separately. I think the Christmas stuff will eventually fizzle or they will tour with other people. Maybe her and Sandi Patty. Him with the Time Jumpers, Jenny and maybe even the Sweethearts as openers or something. Life goes on.

Now, Gary finally puts Cassie on video to announce an impending possible adoption. He says: Look at her. She is gorgeous.

Some of her pics just do not say "mama" to me in any shape or form.
Maybe a mama like Kendra Wilkinson is a mama on Wife Swap. It shows her doing nothing except looking cute, going out with friends, not cooking or cleaning for her family, not doing laundry...full-time help and a husband who spoils her rotten Now, you might say I am jealous, but it is those little things that bond you to your family. Making a cooked breakfast, washing, drying and maybe ironing a favorite shirt, making sure everyone has clean towels, etc.
Am I right?

I can't see his first ex wife doing any of that stuff either.

I agree that I'd love to see Amy perform w/ Gary again if they can swing it. I mean Gary wrote "My Father's Eyes", her first big hit. So beyond their personal lives, she owes him a LOT professionally. I thought that her comment about Gary being on the LMO reunion tour being "awkward" was odd...I mean, its been how many years now?
