<quoted text>. Wow! You are NASTY! Judge yourself first, " still", then understand something. We ALL far short. That's why the Lord was sacrificed. However, if you check out scripture, you will see that Jesus himself advices us to be aware of what is of God, and what is of evil. He wants us to be aware of sin. Not just sweep it under the carpet and give someone a pass, just because he/she is rich and/or good looking. Amy, Vince, Gary. C They all screwed up . We need to recognize that fact... Not judge. Ummm...Jon, in case you didn't know, he admitted in several interviews that he had a drug problem when they married, although she didn't know it at the time. He had a bad cocaine problem for years and years. He might still have that problem, in light of all this. Her only mistake was not leaving him earlier (or maybe marrying him at all was a her biggest mistake). What I think is truly traumatizing is being the world's biggest Christian superstar while at the same time being married to a huge addict. Can you imagine the stress? She is far better than I am-while Gary Chapman and others have trashed her name again and again, she took the high road, never mentioning the problems Gary brought to the marriage. I wouldn't have been gracious enough to do the same. By the way, someone mentioned how Nashvillians rally around him. Being from the area, I've also known many Nashvillians who had not-so-nice words to say about him being a womanizer (while married to Amy Grant).
Another Illinois "fan" what is the deal? Why didn't she bring up that he wouldn't give her that fourth child she wanted or maybe even the third. No one seems to notice that the I Do child and her are about the same height and build. Coincidence or no?

One of the most adamantly quoted lies from the pit of hell is the lie that says condoning and forgiving are the same thing, that we are somehow obligated to pander to the lust, cowardice, arrogance that would cry out against the authority of God claiming that no God of decent and loving character could ever send anyone to hell, and to suggest that such might be true is to be cruel, unloving, unkind, mean, and judgmental. "Judge not lest though be judged" becomes, "Warn not of the dangers of hell lest though be warned" or "Correct not lest though be corrected by a self-righteous, over-sensitive liar who defends vehemently his or her right to continue living in sin. It is amazing how we can feel creeped out by the Satan worshiper or witch when their eyes roll back in their heads and a strange voice comes out through their mouths when some of the most ardent Satan worshipers of all are the liars, the whores, the fakes and the hypocrites who sit in the church pews abusing pastors, abusing Christians, demanding their own way, and feeling entitled to go to church for no other reason than to patronize and insult God with their phoney defenses of sin while feeling holier than thou.

Let me be clear even if some people won't like it. It takes a real whore to cheat on one's marriage or run after a married man or woman, and God would be an irresponsible fool to ever let that person into heaven without requiring that this person repent with some degree of sincerity. He won't do that. It would poison heaven and require Him to give up His integrity and honor. He won't do that. And we can pretend that God will smile down on sin all we want but when it comes time to go to heaven or hell, here on earth is where we will make our choices.

All sins can be forgiven, but no sin can be condoned. And there are times when couples divorce where the fault is not divided evenly as some might want to suggest. There are times when it is dishonest and cruel and unjust to suggest that both must take their share of the blame when one is victimized by the other. Some spouses make the marriage impossible to maintain. I don't mean inconvenient or slightly uncomfortable by being imperfect. I am talking about adultery, cruel violence, intentional malice and unfaithfulness to the core. Drugs and illicit adultery can kill the faithful spouse and leave the children orphaned. And there are times when our own government, society, and even our churches can become more than insensitive and cruel to the victims of adultery violating their rights and their children's rights to live together enjoying the shared family assets.

And often the people we judge are the innocent, the faithful because we are too cowardly to speak out against sin. It's easier to beat up the faithful spouse who is not present than to disapprove of the bad behavior of the one standing before us who may become angry. It may be even more difficult because some fools will come to the defense of the wrong-doer, and the loving call to repentance is cast into a false image of hate and judgment. But, wait until God judges. We can come clean before Him now, or we can roast in the possession and torment of the devil in the lake of fire for all eternity. Jesus paid for the way out of sin, and we can pretend to be religious while living in sin and go to hell, and take our friends and loved ones with us, or we can straighten up, get a backbone and a little dose of integrity with it and learn what real love is all about, that it is not pandering to the lusts and pride and the defense of sin, but it is about leading people out of sin by getting a little faithfulness in our own heart from the only one who can supply it.

Holly, I know someone from your area. And did you forget what the Bible says about if a person loves GOD. Read First John chapter 2.
You cannot say you love GOD if you literally live in sin and know by the word that you are. Let verse 4 really sink in.

I find it ironic that this action can be justified but if a non-christian is caught in sin they are met with scorn and derision. Perhaps that could be explained. We ought to feel this same level of remorse and compassion for all who fall.
At any rate I can hardly imagine a worse example of the christian life than his former wife Amy Grant. Perhaps the trauma of having his wife leave him was too much, that I can understand.
and they don't think GOD will judge them here in the matter?
Didn't he punish Adam & Eve when they disobeyed?
Take a good look at the list of what GOD handed down in punishment just for the act of disobedience.
Gary knew better and should not have been driving on the road.
and he claims he kicked drugs in 1986 oh my Did Gary lie? lol
One needs to be rehabilitated for drugs and it takes time, months even to kick the habit. When was Gary ever in rehabilitation?

Here's some other info that came out BEFORE his DUI/Drug Possession:
__________
Creditors charge that the Chapmans pulled a fraudulent legal maneuver to block foreclosure by transferring their Collins Road property to a company and then filing bankruptcy on that company.
The couple is tangled up in a dispute with two Franklin-based companies that hold mortgages on two Chapman holdings: the 78-acre Collins Road property and a 300-acre “Waterbridge” parcel in Williamson County owned by Gary Chapman’s corporation, C Acquisitions.
The creditors, UIC Capital and Umbrella Investment Corp., are separate entities, although they share some common ownership, court papers indicate. Umbrella says the Chapmans owe $388,000, and UIC is trying to collect $3.9 million.
The “transactions between the parties are somewhat complicated, but in essence, the Chapmans pledged the Davidson County property in order to secure financing for the Williamson County property,” states court papers filed by the Chapmans.
The dispute arose first in Williamson County, where Chapman’s C Acquisitions became embroiled in a contract dispute with Umbrella over Umbrella’s attempts to buy the Williamson County property.
The couple got an injunction in Williamson County to prevent Umbrella from foreclosing on the property there, pending resolution of the contract dispute.
Then on Aug. 30, the Chapmans asked the Davidson County Court to stop foreclosure proceedings on the Collins Road property.
Davidson County Chancellor Richard Dinkins agreed to enjoin the foreclosure Sept. 20 if Chapman posted a $55,000 bond. But the Chapmans didn’t post the bond.
Instead, on Sept. 23, they conveyed the property to C Acquisitions and 28 minutes later, according to UIC’s attorneys, the Chapmans filed for bankruptcy on C Acquisitions, which effectively stalled the foreclosure.
UIC got an order from the Davidson County Chancery Court to allow it to seize property, including three SUVs, two motorcycles, an all-terrain vehicle, three personal watercraft, and musical instruments.
On Monday, after sheriff’s deputies came to collect, the Chapman’s filed an emergency motion to stop the seizure, saying they had done nothing fraudulent. They said they asked for the bankruptcy court to sell Williamson County property to pay off creditors. A hearing on the bankruptcy sale is set for Oct. 25.
“The Chapmans and C Acquisitions have participated in appropriate litigation proceedings, and have done nothing to hide or dissipate assets,” the Chapmans claim in court papers.
The Chapmans will be back in court Thursday to try to block the asset seizure or at least require UIC to post a $3.9 million bond.
Is this old news for you, Buck? Why do you worry so much about Gary's $$$ situation?

I don't think God has given any Christian permission to discuss other people's lives and especially not publicly. We need to be silent about other believers, publicly and privately, and with a sincere heart of compassion and concern, lift them in prayer for help. The world does such things but we see it so much among Christians. It should not be because it's unscriptural.

Buck, you seem very angry, even screaming in all caps.
Well, my roast, potatoes and carrots are done. Now, I need to get started on my vegetable soup (homemade) that was promised yesterday and I fell asleep. The mom on Duck Dynasty stays out of trouble because she is always in the kitchen. Animals love her as she always smells of food. Grandkids love her because there is always something yummy to eat. It may seem old-fashioned, but people tend to gravitate to a woman who can really cook. I don't believe bony bird behind can cook anything beyond the simplest throw-together recipes. she probably cooks like Mrs. Smith (Angelina Jolie)..comes from a catering service, arranges it on a plate, and tells no one.

GREAT post!!
Jessica wrote:
Here's the unvarnished truth:
Gary Chapman was, and is, an addict. He's had an alcohol and drug problem since before he left Texas for Nashville. He had it when he married Amy although she didn't know it at the time. You can look up those facts in several interviews that are online - particularly one in the magazine "Marriage Partnership."
Amy had qualms about marrying Gary, and she should have listened to them. Gary is a very immature personality who lives for the next thrill - hence, all his toys and friends like Tom Arnold. Gary can be a charmer, but he also has a temper. I believe he has wanted to be something more and be "God's man," but he always relapses back into the old Gary.
Gary is a mass of insecurities, and dealing with a famous wife whose music outsold his did not help that situation. He didn't want to resent Amy, but it was always there. He was "Mr. Amy Grant," and for a guy who was insecure but with a large ego, it was a recipe for disaster.
I am not here to bash Gary or try to make Amy look like a saint. I'm only telling what I know. Gary was not an easy person to live with, even when he WAS clean. His bitter interviews after the divorce and his hasty re-marriage were harbingers of worse things to come. Gary's pride was hurt when Amy had finally had all she could take and left. I really think he thought she would never leave because of all the flak she would take if she did. He quickly found someone else to marry in order to show that he was wanted, too.
A lot of people blamed Amy for the divorce, but marriage vows have to be kept by BOTH people. Gary quit "honoring" Amy early in the marrige. His insecurity made him sarcastic towards her and never satisfied. The more needy he became, the more Amy pulled away. Amy's reassurance of her love for him was never enough. He was paranoid, jealous and vengeful. Of course, it could be that his coke habit helped make him that way.
There are always two sides to a story. Like I said, Amy has her own personal demons. We all do. It is a tragedy that we put people (including Christian singers) on a pedastal, and then when they fall off, we blame THEM. We need to realize they are just like us and remember the saying - "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven."
We do need to offer forgiveness and love to each other, but we also need to hold one another accountable. Apparently, Gary hasn't reached the point of accountability in his life. He is still running from it, trying to blame everyone else and trying to hold on to his toys and addictions. He is still trying to self-medicate his hurts and insecurities. Hopefully, he will get help to permanently overcome what is killing him. The prodigal son came home. Gary can, too.

here I am amazed that this discussion still exists. I can agree with what Jessica posted, Gary is running, running, running and still running.
admitting you have a problem is just the beginning of overcoming it.
Gary has not reached the point of really wanting help with his addictions, he has not had rehabilitation services. He has not given any validity reports that he has banished drugs and alcohol from his life. Three marriages will not solve anything. and neither will avoiding it.
