In one of the articles, Amy admitted this song was for Vince. I guess she thought it wasn't going to work out. I have never heard of her singing this song since she married Vinny.

It seems like her repertoire is Baby Baby, some things from older releases, Better Than A Hallelujah, Threaten Me with Heaven, Breath of Heaven and maybe a few others. Oh, Takes a Little Time. Is anyone here a fanatic and can comment?

The biggest Amy fanatic is Brian L. he must be on vacation somewhere. lol
Amy doesn't appeal to me as during her initiating singing years.
yeah, Baby Baby is her pop signature song for sure.
and for the gospel, well, the list is somewhat lengthy to choose from.
Let's see, there's Angels, Thy Word, Find a Way,
Old Man's Rubble, Sing Your Praise to the Lord,
El-Shaddai, I Have Decided, In a Little While.
She says she cannot do a concert without performing El-Shaddai, does she give a great solemn perfomance of it nowadays? add some lol.
Not a bad song Cry me a River, so obvious it was for Vinny man.

Vince is acting like a moron before the breaks into El Shaddai. She just makes some excuse for him talking about needing love/sex because of a rough day on the golf course. I would get really sick of being treated like a piece of meat if I were her.

LOL, don't think she'll be cheerleading for quite some time, you know in baby making process.

That's her claim to fame, moreso than being married to Gary's ex.

Yes and he released "A River Like You"...we'll never know when it was written, only when it was released. It's actually a pretty, moving song, without abrasive sexual overtones to it.

She wrote that "bomb" River Keeps on Rolling which I don't think is ever on the set list anymore. She sang it...they sang it on the View and then she prattled about picking buttercups before her water broke and she delivered Corrina. I always thought she rambled and probably creatively wrote stuff in her head, but Vinny's eyes rolled up in his head over and over told the tale. If anyone finds that interview, please post it. It was after she had Corrina. I don't remember what year River Keeps on Rolling was released or on what disc.

Maybe she can phone up the mother of his children and get some tips on how to get things to work.
It took them five years. If the sperm count is low (as was the case in the Casey Jones household) sometimes even in-vitro won't work. Are they willing to try IUI or donor sperm? Guess we'll never know.

Do you have any plans to put “A River Like You” on your next album? Those of us who have heard you sing it on the Opry have been patiently waiting for you to record it.— Valerie
(Laughs) Sounds like you’re a little mad that I haven’t! I don’t blame you. It’s an old song… the song is nearly twenty years old and I’ve always enjoyed singing it and we’ve talked about it for years; Tony and I have talked about it for years, putting it on a record. You know, I have several songs that have been around for a long time-”Jenny Dreamed Of Trains” was around 15, 16 years before I ever put it on a record. A lot of times it depends on the album I’m making, if that song would fit. Amy just recorded a song of mine called “The River’s Gonna Keep On Rolling” on her new record so I was a little gun shy about having two river songs come out back to back (laughs). But you know at some point it will turn up on a record, I’m sure.

( A River Like You is from 1983, according to Gill) It seems both of them are reaching back for things they lost in the fire.

So, Buck, who do you guess "A River Like You" was for or was it just a generic song?

generic that is so tacky
one would have to be blatently blind to know that it wasn't written with and for Vince. duh right
