Why come out of retirement to make more money? He has more money than his great great grandchildren could ever spend.

I hope he listens to the song, "Murder on Music Row" before he records any of his crap.

Him coming back into the 'country' world will only drive country further from country.

Garth, go away. Country music doesn't need you!!

Well those of us in Kansas City welcome you back with open arms, Garth! Thanks for the memories of your AWESOME nine-night tour here in 2007! I was there (the 4th night when you gave your guitar away to an audience member who was celebrating her birthday), it was the first concert I'd attended in over 20 years. You made it affordable for all of us, and everyone was so jealous that I actually got tickets! It was a night I'll never forget.....you ROCK!

LOVED the guy and his band when they were touring.
Got 3 CDs here at home which is about a record for a single artist here.

GO GARTH!!

Didn't your mommy ever say to you, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything?" Man you are SUCH a craphead. We need all the decent music we can get now. Just because he comes back, does not mean you won't hear as much new stuff, so what's your problem, Jack.

You know, the problem with concerns like this, is YOU DON'T KNOW the specific circumstances of his personal life do you. All you know is what the gossip rags tell you. If you were his EX I could understand the bile.

I like the word "bile". You don't hear it used very often.

Sorry, I just am not a fan of that particular artist. And the country music industry has done fine without him.

Contrast him with all of the other pressed jeans, starched shirts, 500.00 stetson hat, phoneys and tell me where he is different, or fresh, or more unique than the others.

Yearwood is a different matter. She is actually talented.

How many times is he going to retire? Like the sportstars, it gets old after awhile.

The point I'm trying to make here from an artist's perspective is just saying basically 'you suck' helps no one. At least if you are going to criticize an artist tell them WHY you don't like their music, not just that it sucks. You can't please everyone.

Must admit I am guilty of that sometimes, but believe me if you are going to give criticism, do it in a way that HELPS by telling someone what you think is wrong. It's very discouraging otherwise.

Just rattle on. Some of the BEST artists I know of are old and very talented. Like of certain music is subjective.

I can give at least three artists off hand that are now old that have EXCELLENT music and some of them are still working: The Chieftains, Philip Glass, and a relatively unknown by the name of Peo Kindgren. The first is an Irish group, the next does soundtracks for films, and the other was a classical guitar teacher turned artist. That's just a start.

Fair enough. He is not original in any way. There are dozens of similarly outfitted country artists and they all sound the same and look the same. Their music is too commercial and formula. If I hear the music on the radio I can't tell one from another.

Truely talented and unique male country artists, to me, are Hank (the real one, not JR.) and Hank III, Kristofferson, Waylon, Haggard, Kilgore, Bear,...

The rest of these kids are well scrubbed, well dressed, well handled and about as interesting as a terd. Garth is one of these kids.
