I see it like this: we've tried the heavy-handed, militarily planned, horrid consequences approach toward drug use, dealing and culture. It failed. It made some folks rich, allowed a lot of minorities to lose their voting rights, and obliterated the fine line between hardnosed policing and usurption of liberties. It's cost trillions in money, millions of lives and has failed.
So, why not try a different approach?I feel that if we legalize pot, a lot of the money trouble would be fixed and non-violent prisoners would be able to return to their normal lives. FOr me, violent crime is far more important to curb than someone's drug use.
Boston and other cities started meeting with dealers, and telling them that, to avoid a heavy police presence (and probably annoying non-drug using residents), if they curbed the violence, they could ply their trade. Soon after, an enormous drop in violent crime.
Drugs are in now way safe, but at the same time, are far safer than violent crime.

... i'll co-sign that.

Sat through most of it, but not all.

I am on the fence on legalizing all drugs though. Coke, heroin, meth, acid, mostly man-made or engineered substances I don't trust.(I am also one of those who stops taking medicine once I feel better...something I read about a while ago).

But, if alcohol can be legal, then I guess other man made intoxicating substances should be as well.

For me, if it grows in the ground, without added ingredients, then who are we to say no to consumption?(Didn't your god say that he gives all seed bearing plants and herbs for man to use?)

the end is the best part, you grow to hate Mike Douglas' character, but then he finally wakes up....

call me extreme, but i try to avoid all Rx meds myself. instead, i try to use herbal remedies first. it's worked for me for a few years now.
to each his own.
