I have just returned from Thailand where I was able to cross into rebel occupied Burma and while I was there , on two occassions for three weeks I permitted to film the jungle encampment of the Karen National Liberation Army, as well as go on combat patrols with their commander in chief Colonel Nerdah Mya . I left rebel occupied Myanmar on the morning of March l6th and returned to the U nited Stastes on March l9th. Before leaving the KNLA BASE Colonel Nerdah appointed me as the Republic of Kawthoolei's Consul General for the United States as well as his personal representative here in the United States.I am in the process of getting the necessary paperwork signed with the U.S. State Department at this current time and afterwards I will open up the Consulate of Kawthoolei in Wyoming. I will issue visas and information on our republic, and our office will be a clearing house for all enquiries that come to our attention. You can use the Google search engine and type in my name and see/read many stories on me. I live in Lusk, Wyoming and my telephone number is listed.

Be advised Bleming has not been authorized as any kind of official represenative by the KNU--the resistance government in Kawthoolei. He is only in contact with one commander who operates a small area on the borderline.
His information about Kawthoolei is very limmited to the view point of one commander.
To send support to the Karen villagers beyond the border area-- deep inside Burma who are facing hunger and recent attacks by the Burma Army: best to contact the Committee for Internally Displaced Karen People (CIDKP) or the Karen Office for Relief and Development (KORD).

The Committee for Internally Displaced Karen People (CIDKP)is so heavily infiltrated by the SPDC (Burmese govt) that it is in everyones best interest to avoid them like the plague. Any money or assistance you give the CIDKP almost certainly goes to the SPDC.
In addition, there is serious friction between the KNLA and the KNU ( of which CIDKP is a part of).
Certain members of the KNU wish to negotiate a peace treaty with the SPDC. The KNLA does not. Tom Bleming is aligned with the KNLA.

The CIDKP is no more connected to the SPDC than Aung San Suu Kyi is. Why would they be broadcasting monthly SPDC human rights abuses?

KNLA KNU's military wing. The supreme commander of the KNLA troops is the vice president of the KNU. The KNLA GOC is also a KNU executive committee member. KNU and KNLA function as one entity throughout all of Karen state, except for a small area under the control of Ner Dah, a Col who publicly stated he will no longer obey his superiors.
Incidentally, the head of the CIDKP is a Col in the KNLA. CIDKP only operates in KNLA controlled territory.

the only Karen group which has joined with the SPDC recently is the Peace Council. The deal where 60 or so troops surrendered was brokered by none other than Ner Dah and Pastor Timothy. Funny you didn't see them sticking around. Those 60 guys were led and abandoned in enemy territory. Lukily some 30 or more have escaped back to the KNLA.

Your information on Ner Dah is in error. Bleming is still over there with him, fighting against the SPDC, or was when I last heard from him.

Several other Americans have just linked up with Ner Dah as well, so you're not as attuned to the situation as you make yourself out to be.

I stand by my statement that the CIDKP is heavily infiltrated by agents of the SPDC. You're free to believe whatever you so choose.

The pdf file listed above is acutally an SPDC propaganda tool meant to do exactly what it is doing.... Devide the faithful thru rumor and false accusation. THis info was placed in several news articles over several months. Nice try SPDC.

Tom- it is good to see you on this page. I found you and this page while looking up colonel Ner dah on google. Remember When I told you in Burma that I would be posting all over the net? Well here Iam. I must say that of all the things I have found in my google searches about colonel Ner Dah Mya none of the true ones have been bad. I had a feeling when I met him that he was pure of heart and his conscience was clear. Now I know that is what others have seen as well. I like that he doesn't hide things from you. You ask a question you get THE answer. No dancing around. I want to go back in july or august maybe I will see you then and there. Peace

Well this Topix didn't go as long as I hoped it would. Go to www.storminternationalcorp.com to learn how you can give to humanitarian assistance to the Karen People.

I heard though my friends that one of the KNLA camps was attacked near the Thai Border. The camp was over run by the DKBA and SPDC, Then the next day the KNLA took it back.

Pray for the KNLA soldiers that were wounded in this fighting. I have not heard of any civilian injuries or fatalities. I hope the KNLA was able to protect the innocent from the aggressions of the SPDC and DKBA.

They ought to rename the place the
Republic of Kawloony to more aptly describe all of the soldier of fortune wannabes who have descended upon this acreage of Hell...As a professional soldier my instincts are screaming in my ears to get out of Mae Sot. It's a cluster fuck of conflicting stories. Does anyone really know what is going on here ? Please educate me.

Instead of posting ridiculous comments all over the internet, you might try reading up on the subject.
Why would anyone want to get out of Mae Sot? It's in Thailand, not Burma.
As for the soldier of fortune wannabes, since when has someone donating aid to the Karen refugees become a mercenary.
By the way, I see that on this forum you have promoted yourself to to full colonel. Congratulations on going jumping from simple Viet Nam vet and walking sandbag to full bull.
