That is exactly the first thing I thought when I saw this article.
Isn't it something that the China lobby has such a grip on our politicians
and they of course do nothing really about the bad and dangerous quality of things
being imported from China. Can you imagine if it was the other way around?
There would be a great big outburst and the UN would probably get involved.
China good have had lead in the products, material from there being used in
some of the pet food having poison in it, and all kinds of other things that we
probably do not even hear about. Now this stuff endangering the kids.
When will the govt. do something about all this?? Probably never. It is outrageous!!

I have got to the point where I dont want to vote any more . The choices of politicians are equally bad.
I am tired of buying Chinese junk, yet they have "most favored nation" status.

hey, but if we just downsize government and get rid of all those pesky regulations, none of this would happen, and we'd all be one big happy family!

While no one wishes injury upon any child, lets do the math to get some perspective.

Presently, there are approximately 20 million children in the United States.

11 million Fisher Price trikes, 10 injuries.

That's a 0.000091% injury rate per trike.
That's a 0.00005% injury rate for all children.

What does the CDC say about childhood injury?

"Injuries due to falls were the leading cause of nonfatal injury. Each year, approximately 2.8 million children had an initial emergency department visit for injuries from a fall. For children less than 1 year of age, falls accounted for over 50% of nonfatal injuries."

Thats a 14% non fatal injury rate due to falling.

Clearly, to prevent the scourge of falling injury rate, the Consumer Product Safety Commission should require all children to be encapsulated in bubble wrap and wear helmets with heavy gloves at all times.

The Earth sucks, but its the law.

And that takes more money out of the private sector which PAYS for everything. You notice the obamunist does nothing about China's MFS just like the shrub did nothing,Clinton etc. Don't stop voting-just find candidates that are willing to support THE CONSTITUTION. They are out there-unless you don't care about the constitution in which case do whatever. The REASON we have all these problems today is BECAUSE the constitution HAS been ignored by both parties. A lot of repubics are going to be voted out of office for that reason and I HOPE a lot of demoncats will also be voted out as well. They have both f-ed this nation and we need people who will take their oath of office seriously. We would not be involved in 2 wars if the constitution was followed or at least if congress didn't abdicate their responsibility.WE NEED NEW PEOPLE WHO CARE!
