Priscilla Presley fought to save Graceland

Jan 5, 2013 Full story: Monsters and Critics 238

The actress' late ex-husband's house in Memphis, Tennessee, has been preserved as a shrine in his honour and it is now a huge tourist attraction, but Priscilla had to fight hard to keep the property and its contents after Elvis' death in 1977.

<quoted text> I went there and read quite a few of the posts. I had to quit, though. Too much to deal with. This sort of thing is traumatizing just to read it, much less to have to deal with it in life. I certainly do no agree with the comment here. It is [that bad]. Always, period.
Yes it's a nasty subject. We got onto it because people were coming on here calling Elvis a pedophile and because I said that they should stop going over to the Micheal Jackson forum calling Micheal a pedophile, because it made Micheal Jackson fans hate Elvis. Then it went on from there. It went on too long and got way off topic.

<quoted text>Is the post this thread? I'll look. Either way, no excuses here. The guy deserved nothing less than to lose his wife, job and even do time. That little girl was likely traumatized.
The little girl did not seem to be traumatized. The mother was very angry though.

I don't see how you think just that could make her traumatized.

Yeah, and it really took off with your postings of how it doesn't always hurt the child, and some children "like it"

ENOUGH!!! Damn it people! Lee, it is ALWAYS WRONG, ALWAYS TRAUMATIZING! NO child likes it, it is always hurtful and that mom had every right to be angry. Angry? Some parents would take it beyond just being angry. This is not debatable, like Elvis, MM or any other famous person's life. This is real life, Lee. If you cannot admit that it is always wrong to sexually abuse a child, that no child enjoys it and that it is always hurtful, you have no busines here. There are laws designed to protect children from animals like this man for a reason. And it isn't just a [nasty] subject, it's deplorable! You cannot possibly believe that any child would actually be at fault for something like this. This makes me question not only your sanity but your own life experiences as well. What in the name of all that is holy,(and yes, I am one of those "Christian" types you spoke of in a past post) happened to you?

Why don't you put up a link to that post and show what it really said??? If I said that, you are saying it out of context.

You said they may not be traumatized "at first", but when the psychologist tells them what happened to them was wrong, oh, I mean when the STUPID psychologist tells them what happened to them was wrong, then they are traumatized. Those damn psychologist always have to spill the beans.

You also said when they realized it was "socially unacceptable"
Child sexual abuse....yeah, SOCIALLY unacceptable. Like teenage drinking, smoking.....Idiot.

All someone has to do to see even parts of your sickening thoughts is go to the Elvis MJ topix thread, and read, starting like pg 16, 17, 18. And that's only the beginning. I'm not going to go back and repost all your crap here.

LEE POST:

It is not something that I am particularly concerned about. I think the "trauma" is mostly in the heads of the psychologists. It is the psychologists who plant the idea in the heads of the victims that they should feel so traumatized. Most of them say that they did not feel bad about it until they "grew up and found out that it was wrong".

Being told by the stupid psychologists that they have participated in something that is very very bad is what is traumatizing them. If they say they were NOT traumatized, it makes them feel that they are guilty of enjoying this "awful" thing.

What else can they say, except that they were traumatized??

They average person cannot just come out and say, "it did not traumatize me, I liked it". It is not socially acceptable.

Again, I am talking about cases where there was absolutely NO coercion, trickery, betrayal, etc.

Michigan, remember, this is the Elvis board. We filled it up with off topic stuff for too long. Everything I posted is still there for anyone to look at.

Yes, I did say those things. But they do not apply to you, they only apply to cases where there was no force, coercion, trickery, etc.

Yes, I know every psychologist since the beginning of time has agreed with you. But the one psychologist agreed with me. And it you go down and read the comments on the page, some of the so called "victims" did too.

No matter how much you scream about how "sickening" I am, I also have a right to my opinion.

And what do you think should happen to the psychologist who agreed with me??? Or the posters on the site???

If you want to talk more about this, let't take it over to the site that I posted. They have a comment board. Or let's create an OFF TOPIC thread here.

It's not fair to keep cluttering up the Elvis board here.

<quoted text>She is one leaky vessel, that's for sure. I can understand her devotion to Elvis on some level, however, I cannot grasp her shear and utter delusion as to his part in the failure of his marriage. To think he had no part in it is completely beyond the scope of my imagination. To place all the blame fully on Cilla and to now show such hatred for her as well as Lisa is just completely crazy. We can't even have a simple discussion about the positive things he accomplished.
Not a leaky vessel - an empty one!

<quoted text>Kingsdaughter, remember when you first expressed positive thoughts about Priscilla???? Remember what I said to you? Something like it was good to have someone here who respected Elvis, and we could just disagree???
Why then, can you not allow ME to have my opinions without calling me crazy or stupid???
I think we can disagree without insulting each other and calling each other names.
Thats a bit rich coming from you of all people Lee - no one else is entitled to their own opinions especially if they differ from your ones - get over it!

Hey, can you all not ruin another thread by trying to psychoanalyse the beast that is Lee and her sick beliefs about what constitutes abuse?

Please take it back over to the MJ Fans From Topix thread where it started!!

And leave it there!
