Does anyone know if she is still living? And if so does anyone have a way I can contact her? In 1993, I was a St Jude hospital patient and she was the one to visit with me and talk about the Make-A-Wish foundation and set into action my getting to go to Washington, D.C. later that year.
When we met I was SO sick because it was during the day after I'd underwent chemo the night before and I was on SO much medication that honestly I don't think I would have remembered her at all had my parents' not reminded me that she had been a nurse to Elvis. Then I remembered griping that my parents never would take me to Graceland even though we were in Memphis a lot due to my having cancer.
I've noticed on the web that she's done a lot to help Make-A-Wish and I'd really just like to be able to say thank you and to tell her that FINALLY I got to go to Graceland this past week and that was what reminded me of her.
Thanks for any assistance.

This is interesting. She always seemed like a really caring, sweet person. Looking on line, as far as I can tell, she is still alive. On Elvis 2001 from an interview done April 16, 2005 and a book section, her mailing address is given as 784 Pecan Gardens Circle East, Memphis, TN 38122. It would be under her name, and I'm sure she would be glad to hear from you. She is also selling copies of her book "I Called Him Babe (1979)," and will personally autograph each one. She herself will get the $25.00 so this would be a good book to order! Make checks payable to Marion Cocke. The interviewer said she is one person who loved Elvis and never wanted anything from him but friendship, but I'm sure she could use the money particularly now that her husband has passed away. I would like to know for sure if she is still alive before I send for the book so please let us know. I found another site "Elvis Up to Date" which gave the same address to send condolences on her husband's death which would have been since her interview because she said she was just taking care of her husband and dog now in the interview.

Yes, Ms. Cocke is still living in Memphis. Each year during "Elvis Week" in August, she has a charity auction which raises several thousand dollars for local charities in Memphis. She still lives at the same address. I just purchased tickets for her event for this coming August. She does not have any more copies of her book available but occassionally you can find one on ebay. Good luck.
