I don't mind hearing Elvis swear, but there's
better stuff out there that is more fun to listen
to. I'm amazed how little Elvis did that would be
considered profane. Really, he had a great sense
of humor and it's so much fun hearing him talk.

And there are some deluded fans out there who still refuse to believe it's actually him on that X-rated version of HURT and other outtakes where he's swearing.

Pure madness.

I have Elvis raw and a lot of those outtakes are funny

but I do not believe that version of hurt with the swearing in between lyrics is Elvis

it sounds dubbed,

in other songs, the swearing is blended in the lyrics or after Elvis messes up

that version of Hurt sounds like Elvis had tourettes syndrome

It is not dubbed at all.

The first time it was released, it was done at a slightly slower speed.

Elvis recorded it purposely with swearing in it to shock Vernon. He called him into the den after they'd done it to play ot for him. It was a gag, nothing more.

Rest assured, it is Elvis with no extra dubbing of swearing.

You'll never see it released by BMG, nor will you ever see WINGS OF AN ANGEL with the line "the balls of a big, hairy coon" see the light of day.

Maybe it is him. Maybe it isn't. It is too easy to change these things.

You're a complete fool.

It is Elvis on that tape singing and swearing his way through HURT.

Accept it, and stop spewing out your vile conspiracy theories.

It is nutjobs like you that give "Elvis fan" a bad conotation.

perhaps we're referring to different recordings

the one i heard seemed like a concert one

not a private recording

No, not a concert version.

It is an alternate take from Graceland, recorded at the same time as the original.

And it is HIGHLY amusing.

Nina,

This is the version.

The creator on YouTube fixed the speed, so you have it here as it was recorded originally.

And yes, Lee and others, IT IS HIM SINGING!!
