I don't think it was a comedy. And I don't like westerns, but as westerns went, it was not that bad.
A lot of people knock Elvls' acting, siting really bad movies. But he did as well with those bad movies as anyone could. People confuse bad movies with bad acting.
When Elvis had good material to work with, he was a VERY good actor.
"Stay, Away Joe" was filmed in Arizona.
It was about poor Indians out in the desert selling cattle.
Not much of a storyline.
The acting was horrible by everyone in the cast.
The best part of the movie was Elvis but that was about it.
"Stay Away" and "All I Needed Was The Rain" were great songs.
It was intended to be a comedy but people failed to get it...
I wouldn't exactly call it a western because it was modern times.
Elvis was a good actor with potential but put in a few bad films.
"Stay Away, Joe" was one of them.
