As we approach the Anniversary in August the Doc on FECC is helping me to publicise the Campaign.:-)

Of all the achievements that are indeed possible, vis a vis Elvis, nothing will ever beat that the Memphis airport is named after the city's most influential inhabitant. He lived there for 21 years, and the city is basically known throughout the world precisely as aresult of that particular fact, Federal Express, the Cotton Exchange, and the infamous assassination of Martin Luther King notwithstanding. As a matter of fact, I just don't see what the authorities are waiting, since the airport will double, if not triple its sue the moment it changes its name. I can see thousands, if not millions of overseas travellers choosing Memphis as a point of arrival, whenn deciding to tyravel to another city from abroad.

Sorry, what 21 years??? He lived there for 29 years(twenty nine), 21 of them being the subject of almost unlimited attention, as the world's biggest celebrity. Then, as if the authorities have not realized, he's had an afterlife, now 31 years and counting, like that of no other person who's ever lived, other than a religious figure.

I sure would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the name of the Memphis airport chaned to ELVIS PRESLEY INTERNATIONAL before I pass, Maurice. It would mean the absolute world to me... and to millions of other fans.

The powers that be in Tennessee need to get a a clue.:)
If they would changed the name of the airport in Tennessee to Elvis Presley International. I promise you, Maurice, I would be there for the ceremony!!!:)

Maurice might be onto something here. With Sillerman about to invest hundreds of millions of privately funded dollars into the airport area in and around Graceland, there seems to be a new kind of love affair going on with the MAA and EPE. That could convince the MAA to rename the airport after it's #1 most famous resident both city and neighborhood. I have been following this situation through the Memphis media closely because of the redevelopment of the Graceland district.

Please do not stand up until the plane comes to a full stop and is parked next to the terminal; for those Elvis fans amomgst you, I am pleased to inform you that Elvis has yet to leave the building; thank you very much" (LOL)
