With the amount of Elvis tribute artistes out there, it would be impossible to pick a favourite, because all are similar, but each puts his own interpretation on his performance. I think that any Elvis fan who takes the considerable trouble and time to emulate their idol respectfully and tastefully deserves merit. They all appreciate they can never be as good as the King but continue to perform and their dogged determination deserves the respect of us all for keeping the dream alive.
All similar in the fact there not Elvis. Merit not the word i would use. Some of them think there as good as Elvis but there not. The resepct of us all i doubt that. They seem to think there doing him some kind of honor or something but again there not.

I think Mark Lee Pringle does an excellent job as an 'early' Elvis ETA! He has the 'look', voice, & moves that Elvis performed in the 1950s'! Check him out on Facebook at ''50's Elvis Tribute Show''.
Mark uses all exact replicas of Elvis' 50's outfits & shoes, old microphones, exact guitars, and he is the only ETA that uses a full-size RCA Nipper dog statue on-stage, just like Elvis did from 1956 to 58'. Also, you can type in ''Mark Lee Pringle as Elvis'' on your server/google and get a lot of sites' & more info' on his show.

Hello.
Cody Slaugter is his name, he is just the most life like young Elvis Presley and l have only watched him on youtube so far.
elvispresley77 he is from the south and has a huge following.
Elvis the Max, Pellicano is ok to listen to, l saw him at the evans theatre at Penrith panthers about 15 years ago but he is quite dated if you know what l mean, always relying on the white jumpsuites.
Cody Slaughter is refreshing, full of energy, great voice,
He is only about 22 years old.

l have booked tickets to see him perform at the Raddison Hotel, in New Hampshire, near Boston,USA, on sep 1st 2012, 3rd table from the stage, lm really exited, their are still front table seats available to purchase. Google(newenglandelvisfetival)
If l wait until he is famous world wide, by the time he comes to sydney, l will end up the 30th row back from the stage.

See what you think after watching him.

ETA's???...is this a trick question? ETA's are just fulfilling some sick infatuation they have with Elvis.. They have to be crazy..just think about it....who in their right mind would dress up in a jumpsuit and make an attempt to immitate ELVIS? This is JMO...but, I think it's very sad that the Imps will be remembered as ELVIS, in the generations to come. They will not be able to determine the real Elvis from the imposter. I think it;s very sad.

Agreed, well said.

But the real Elvis will be known and remembered by the generations to come. Impersonators are all crap.

I am a tribute artist myself. There are many good ETA's but my fav is award winning ETA Bruce Andrew Stewart from Canada. He puts on a great show with cute little skits with his partner, Blaze who does all the sound and bookings and has as many great costumes as Bruce as Elvis does. We had the pleasure of doing a guest spot as Johnny Cash/June Carter in one of their shows. What an honor! Bruce looks a lot like Elvis and sounds just like him, even when speaking. Not only are they great performers but great people too!

I'm a huge Elvis fan, and I gotta say that this is certainly an interesting question. Although there will only ever be one Elvis, and that's obviously the real one. And no one can ever replace him.

With all this being said, there's a difference between Elvis impersonators and Elvis Tribute Artists. And the Tribute Artists, who take this seriously really do a damn good job.

Where I live, which sadly isn't Vegas, where I'd see a million of them. Haha. But, out of the Artists that I have seen, I must say that Shawn Klush has been the best thus far for me.

Shawn needs to live in Australia. LOL>

The younger generation see the imps as one big joke, the younger generation are not interested in imp's of any one they much prefer to listen to the real artist. Ask most of the younger generation about Elvis imps's and they'll give you a different answer to the one your giving. The only people who seem to enjoy the imps are the older people who were around when Elvis was alive but didn't get the chance to see him live. I've been to see imps/eta's and the old dears line up for 'autographs' and wait in line to have their 'picture' took with them. The idiots who give out sweaty stained scarves thinking their the real Elvis just for those few minutes, get real. These guys love the attention and the adoration they get from the old dears and the few 30 odd year olds, they don't do it to keep Elvis's memory alive other wise they wouldn't try to be like him, talk like him. How ridiculous do they sound when they claim " this is one I recorded in '68' with the worst imitation of Elvis. Imps are the reason no one other than Elvis fans give Elvis the respect he's due, they take the piss the entire world takes the piss.
It is normally better to comment on something you know a bit about my friend.
In my opinion, if the Elvis impersonators were not about, the name of Elvis would NOT be as big as it still is now...FACT
Our local Elvis fan club - official Elvis fan club - had regular monthly Elvis discos.
Some months you would be lucky if there were 15 people turning up. They put on an Elvis tribute act and the place was full (120) 6 months later, after dwindling numbers again, they put on the same Elvis tribute...the place was full.
The funny thing was, the fan club was run by a wonan similar to you "There will never be another Elvis" "I hate ETA`s" - the normal BS.
They ended up pissing off the Elvis guy and now he won't go back.
Guess what, the club now is only open every 3 months and still can only attract 20 people.
The same Elvis Tribute is playing to full houses all over our area and more and tbh, I would prefer to go and watch him than to be surrounded by 20 boring people that can't move with the times. At least he is exciting, moves well, sounds good and sings with passion - offering the audience a taste of what it could have been like.
As a side note, you don't hear ABBA fans going on about ABBA tribute shows. The ABBA fans know that these Tributes keep the music alive much more than some boring old fart knocking people for doing a job and providing real entertainment.
Elvis was a one off, we all know that. MOST (and I say MOST) of the ETA`s are real, sincere people who would never do anything to disrespect the name of Elvis.
I sometimes think that Elvis fans who are so against ETA`s are so because they can't sing, look like shit or don't have the balls to get up and do it.
Finally, you know what they say???
"imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"

"Thank you, thank you very much,"

I saw Cody in the Million Dollar Quartet. Out of all the actors playing the big names , Cody was the worse . All the others were very talented. Plus Cody does not look and i already said sound like Elvis.
in my opinion.
