Elvis to the Max

Gosford, Australia

#1 Oct 28, 2007
As you all know, l love Elvis Presley very much, and have been a fan of his, from a very young age. Many Tribute Artists that come to my local area l try to go and see the show..l think that they all do a fantastic job in keeping the memory of Elvis. So l would like to thank them all for what they do..Now l'm not trying to knock any of them over, but we all have our favourites, and from what l have seen so far, l must say that Elvis to the Max, ls the best..He looks, acts, and does every little Nuance just like the real Elvis used to.
l could go on and on, but l think that ya'll get my point..So the question that l would like to ask next ls..Has anyone seen Elvis to the Max, and lf so, please share your experience with me. lf you have seen any other tribute artists then share that too..And lf ok, l shall write about lt in the ETTM myspace that l am running..lf you are an Elvis fan and would like to join me as a friend on myspace, please let me know..

Thankyou, thankyou very much..

This is a no-win question as everyone has their own ideas about ETA's and who is "the best." And discussion about "who is the best" always deteriorate into name calling, insults, and more, as FANS of ETA's can be brutal. Let's just say that there are a number of ETA's who truly are doing a great job and there are a number who shouldn't be seen in public...with the majority falling somewhere in the middle. I've seen thousands of ETA's, and would say that I have a "top 5" that I would enjoy seeing more than once. I have seen Max Pellicano several times and have enjoyed his show, by the way. He's also a really nice person who cares about how he presents "Elvis" to the public.

PS...let's see how long this thread can go on being civil, before it deteriorates into insults and rude remarks about ETA's.

Sonny Montana is the best elvis tribute artist I have ever seen in my life. If you closed your eyes you would swear it was really Elvis singing. He has the exact same moves and voice of Elvis. It is just unbelievable. I have seen a lot of tribute artists in my life, but I believe he is the best that I have ever seen. He is from the Longview, tx. area. and puts on a great performance.

If these are all so good why are they imitating somebody else. Why haven't they all got exceptional singing careers of their own instead of trying to be something they are so obvioulsy not, that is Elvis Presley. 'He has the moves' 'he looks like him' sorry but there is only one Elvis and you insult him by claiming these no hopers who haven't got enough talent to go out on stage and be themselves are anything like him. You're all listening to the imps so much you've forgot what the real Elvis sounds like otherwise you wouldn't insult him by claiming this talentless bunch sound anything like him. No wonder the media feel it's ok to take the piss out of Elvis when you've got supposedly Elvis fans claiming the imps are the next best thing. There was only one Elvis and there has never been another like him, thats why these losers have to pretend, they love what Elvis had, they want what Elvis had but they haven't got the talent to get it so they have to pretend to be Elvis to get it.

WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE ELVIS THE KING!!!!!!!! BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF MEN OUT THERE THAT HAVE BEEN HUGE FANS OF ELVIS SINCE THEY WERE LITTLE BOYS AND HAVE ALWAYS ADMIRED ELVIS AND WANTED TO BE LIKE HIM. MAYBE YOU NEVER LIKED HIM OR EITHER COULD NOT SING LIKE HIM. SO I THINK THAT IT IS GREAT FOR ANYONE THAT CAN ACT LIKE ELVIS PRESLEY. AFTERALL, HE WAS THE KING OF ROCK N ROLL AND ALWAYS WILL BE. JUST KEEP PRACTICING!!!!

ELVIS HAD A VERY BEAUTIFUL VOICE, AND IT TAKES A LOT OF TALENT TO SOUND LIKE HIM. IF YOU CAN SOUND LIKE HIM, IT MUST BE A GIFT FROM GOD. ALL OF THE ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTISTS HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT THAT A LOT OF MEN ENVY THAT CANNOT SOUND LIKE ELVIS, BECAUSE IT TAKES CERTAIN TALENT TO SOUND AND BE LIKE ELVIS. WHO DIDN'T WANT TO BE JUST LIKE ELVIS PRESLEY???????? THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTISTS, AND NO YOU ARE NOT LOSERS. ONLY THE ONES WHO CAN'T SOUND LIKE HIM MUST BE. SO PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND LET ELVIS MUSIC LIVE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

Like I said it's no wonder the media take the piss out of Elvis when the imp fans start claiming there's another person out there who because he was a fan it means he can get on stage and make Elvis look an absolute joke, but thats OK cos he was a big big fan and he really loved Elvis. If he loved, admired or even respected Elvis the imps wouldn't do what they do. Whats wrong with them getting up on stage as themselves and covering Elvis's music. That way you get to see just how talented they really are insttead of getting mannequins who think because they dress like Elvis they are Elvis. I found the fans in the USA are more inclined towards imps than any other country and then you have EPE who seem to have forgotton the real Elvis to make way for the impss. Sooner or later the real Elvis will be a distant memory who's been replaced by imps because certain fans wanted some one they could touch or pretend he's the real thing. Listen to the real thing if you think and if anyone thinks an imp sounds like Elvis you're not listening to Elvis enough.

there are so many elvis impersonaters, i think its hard to say whos the best, so how does this sound... when you next see an elvis impersonater close your eyes when he sings, and if you genuinely cannot hardly tell the difference from the real elvis, then you cant get any better than that can you.

I have seen a lot of ETA's and I admire and respect what they do. It takes a lot of guts and determination to do what they do. I do not see it as a disrepect to the real Elvis at all. If anything, it is the highest respect they can give to the real Elvis. By representing him and keeping his music alive, it gives the younger generations an education of what The King of Rock & Roll providing to the music business. I am VERY proud of ALL the ETA's out there. If you guys have not see Maurice Sheps, you can come and see him down on Hollywood Beach, Florida on February 16th. I take my hat off to all the ETA's who TRULY TRULY represent the real Elvis. Personally, if I were dead and were able to look down on the world and see fans from all over the world singing my songs and trying to pay tribute to me, I would be truly HONORED and FLATTERED!!!! Also, get it right, Elvis Tribute Artists are NOT trying to be the real Elvis!! THEY ARE PAYING TRIBUTE TO THE REAL ELVIS!! WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL!! Like I said before, ETA's are great for the younger generation. My daughter has learned a lot about Elvis Presley through ETA's. And YES she is learning the real things about Elvis Presley, not what people claim he was!!! HELP KEEP THE MEMORY OF ELVIS PRESLEY ALIVE AND SUPPORT ALL ETA'S FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! THOSE OF YOU WHO AGREE WITH ME, RESPOND TO THIS SAYING "I AGREE"!!!!!

The younger generation see the imps as one big joke, the younger generation are not interested in imp's of any one they much prefer to listen to the real artist. Ask most of the younger generation about Elvis imps's and they'll give you a different answer to the one your giving. The only people who seem to enjoy the imps are the older people who were around when Elvis was alive but didn't get the chance to see him live. I've been to see imps/eta's and the old dears line up for 'autographs' and wait in line to have their 'picture' took with them. The idiots who give out sweaty stained scarves thinking their the real Elvis just for those few minutes, get real. These guys love the attention and the adoration they get from the old dears and the few 30 odd year olds, they don't do it to keep Elvis's memory alive other wise they wouldn't try to be like him, talk like him. How ridiculous do they sound when they claim " this is one I recorded in '68' with the worst imitation of Elvis. Imps are the reason no one other than Elvis fans give Elvis the respect he's due, they take the piss the entire world takes the piss.
