ONE MORE THING.....had the so called 'speculation' been a brain tumor, diabetes,etc...then that wouldn't be distasteful in someone's eyes...but ANY medical condition is just that , a condition...just because it is colon doesn't mean I am trying to demean him...I would NEVER do that.
But the truth is the truth...

THere have been So many rumors about Elvis' health problems....cancer ( which was a HUGE falsehood), and other things...
HE was sick no doubt,,all one has to do is look at his bloated body and face and the look of saddness in is eyes that last concert to see he was in trouble.
Marty Lacker answers questions that I ask him, and he says Elvis had a bit of a deformed rib that caused him some breathing problems from time to time....I had NEVER read that ...what about any of you? EVER HEARD THAT?

I BELIEVE marty...he has no reason to lie...but ELVIS 'started' the cancer rumor to find out who was leaking into out of graceland and that is how THAT got started as a fact...which proved someone did talk behind is back...I know who that was.

THe autopsy , in my opinion is going to show anything that we don't already know unless there was some kind of'evidence' nobody knows about.

I think he did have a hereditary condition which the drugs certainly made worse

it seems to me that with the constipation problem, and that Elvis had a book with him, he wasn't in the bathroom straining

he was in there for the duration, read, wait, read wait

the book he had a was a hard cor for the times, but soft core now about sex and zodiac signs

I think the fight over the book is almost a bigger issue than the cause of death

because few people want to think of Elvis in the john looking at porn instead of reading religious books - and the shroud one wasn'tpublished until after he died.

From what I have read, it was a pretty common occurrence for him to have spent a lot of time in the bathroom, but I do feel he could have been straining as the condition of the colon according to autopsy..,,,,
NOW..let't face it...dr. nick could be saying anything to cover himself..but I wouldn't personally hold only him accountable for the drugs....elvis had many sources.

Yes,,there are several arguments over the book in the bathroom.

You and I agree that Elvis was the only one who could have stopped himself..he just didn't

absolutely agree with the tiny change that Dr Nick will say anything - his actions in the afternoon and days following say a lot about his contributions though.

But, if it had only been Elvis, I think Dr Nick might have better survived Elvis' death

the Tennessee Board investigated his practice - there was poor record keeping and he was initially charged with over prescribing for 10 patients - including Jerry Lee - and Elvis was one of two that died in the time period - and ultimately found negligent in 8 or the cases.

I wonder why there was no pressure from the family to do a more complete investigation....

because they are almost over the hump of Elvis the drug addict

they are whitewashing him and pretending like he died in 1973

to actually investigate means dredging it all up again

back at the time, Vernon's concern was keeping Elvis' image clean

what I meant was,,why didn't the family pursue an investigation of dr. nick? I know he was supposedly a 'friend' but when you son is dead one would think one would investigate every avenue.

Also,,nina, you seem to be a very learned, investigative person yourself...what is your background? You always have facts and I have yet to find much that I haven't agreed with. I have researched a lot of Elvis' personality and life more than the music, I am interested in personalities a lot, psyches,,,that sort of thing.
I can tell within a few minutes of meeting a person if they suffer from anxiety disorders/depression.
I KNOW Elvis was suffering from both,,,moreso toward the end.

I've been collecting Elvis books since the late 70's, and have read over 200 of them.

I have a lot of documentaries too - Elvis, but also other subjects

It's interesting to me how coverage has changed over that time - and what information is available.

And there always seems to be new things about Elvis or film or photos out there.

Mostly, I am interested in learning about any subject, I have a good memory and an ability to:

1. distill any subject or statement to it's most painful essence

2. make connections between seemingly unrelated things.

I have worked in a variety of offices and interacted with thousands of people from diverse backgrounds.

Just a keen observer, mostly.

Yes, I would say that the 2 of us have agreed more than any other 2 on here.

At the time, I think Vernon didn't want the truth out there - he was ill and only lived almost 2 more years.

Plus, many suspect that Vernon was behind an attempt to kill Dr Nick.

Apparently a few weeks after Elvis' death, Nick was at a sports event and the doctor he had gone with was shot in the shoulder - a minor wound.

I dunno, I think if Vernon really wanted it done, that there would have been other attempts

I told you the truth. no other option would work for him due to the extensive damage.....Also, study a little before posting blind opinions that have no basis in fact, people. a Barium Enema does not impact.
candysvett2 wrote:
According to dr. nick's book...the reason he had a chalk-like substance in his colon was because he had had a barium procedure and it was still there.
Also...There are several procedures that could have been done without a colostomy...and while some folks have to have a bag for a while, it can be reversible...

Dr. nick doesn't say in his book whether or not a bag would have been the case....I can see why Elvis would not have wanted that.
So I cannot state that I now which procedure was the option.

so off key here....
your talking about a guy from the back woods, with an 8th grade education. There is very little he didn't screw up nor choose wrongly about. Vernon did very little good, and a lot of harm. he even had time to learn better, but instead squandered his role as dad, husband, and financial leader. Don't even begin to think any of his choices would make sense to you.

research what Elvis REALLY thought of Marty...how Marty REALLY was...and how he has lived since then... then consider your source...wow.

I read the Shroud of Torin in the 1960's. It was out for at least 15-20 years before E died. Gert your facts straight! It was out and was the book he was reading. He got his copy that very night. Elvis was a Christian seeking more facts. to put your faith in a book written by a guy who never knew Elvis and whose copy was approved and supported by EPE is agreeing to believe a version of the story for another purpose altogether.

Candy, Jim And Sven, never apply to the FBI or CIA. You haven't a clue to high stakes motives and actions at the billion dollar level. VERY naive. Consider yourselves sheltered and blessed, but far from knowing much about what really happened.
