Normally, this happens every once in a while with Albums being specially advertised, so I thought it hitting inside the Billboard 200 (at 168, and inside their Catalog Top 20) was a sort of fluke. But, lo and behold, I checked this week´s Billboard charts, this morning, and it has gone up 21 and 4 notches, so that it is now at the 137 and 16 position, respectively.

Sony should take note and promote it!

Jim, why is this happening? Was it re-released somewhere?

It is being sold in one of the major outlets across Texas, I think, with a US$5.55 tag to it, but that does not nreally truly explain why it would seel in the thousands, as it is doing. Perhaps there are ads, so I will check and get back at you Observer Rules.

Jim, thanks for the update. I remember when RCA released Elvis, Live at Madison Square Gardens(one of my favorites) and wore out the LP> and bought another then later the CD. So now, I'm gonna get the Afternoon CD.
I guess this is a good example of how or why its' selling.
I remember seeing a drawing of an ad from the papers after this concert in NY. It shows Elvis in his' concert outfit and cape, climbing on top of the Empire State Building(a parody of the King Kong Movie) to express that Elvis had conquered New York!

After disappearing from the Top 200 albums for two weeks, it re-appears once more, in today´s new chart, at 172 (28 on the catalog charts).

And this week, for whatever reason, it goes up the highest it´s ever been to 123, peaking also at the catalog chart, at number 12

And this week, it jumps to 85 in the BB200 chart, and inside the top ten, at number 8, on the BB Catalog album charts!!

This week, it goes down four notches to 89, but remnins at number 8 on the Catalog charts, the result no doubt of four new albums entering the charts. Wow!! Those copies at Walmart must be flying off their shelves!!! He is also at number 30 on the Christian Chart with his CD album "An evening prayer"

I checked the Soundscan figures, and it sold in excess of 6,100 copies last week, landing at number 89 ( it had to, since number 90 sold a little over 6,000, and was mentioned. I guess it sold about the same the week prior to that, when it peaked at 85

This week at Billboard, the album did something really strange. It went up one slot in the Billboard 200, from 89 to 88, and lost a notch in the Catalog chart, from number 8 to number 9. Go figure! Again, it is still selling over 5,000 copies each week, still on the strenght of its being highlighted at Walmarts, I guess.
