Ginger Alden who was Elvis' current girlfriend at the time of his death is selling her engagement ring which Elvis gave her. Here is the description with the ring which is being auctioned off in November.

Elvis Presley's Diamond Ring to Ginger Alden. Ginger Alden, Elvis' fiancee, first met Elvis Presley in 1961, when she was just 5 years old. Her father had been been Presley's induction officer when the musician joined the Army in 1958, and the Rock legend had invited the family out for an evening at the local fair.

The two were introduced 15 years later in 1976. During their courtship, Presley often introduced Ginger and her family during his performances, including his last televised appearance in 1977. He had planned to announce their engagement publicly on his upcoming tour in Memphis; sadly, he died before this could happen.

Ginger describes the scene thusly: "In December of 1976, Elvis Presley performed what would be his last shows in Las Vegas, and he invited me to accompany him. Seated on his bed inside of the penthouse suite at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel, Elvis called me in, asked me to sit down, close my eyes, and hold out my hand. I felt a ring being slipped on my finger. I was stunned when I opened my eyes and he asked me to hold out my other hand and he slid this gold and diamond ring onto that finger. Elvis loved jewelry, wanted me to share that love and I wore this many times in Las Vegas and afterwards."

The ring features 15 round brilliant cut diamonds with a total weight of 1 kt. in a 14 kt. yellow gold setting with a weight of 11.8 grams. Two of the diamonds are chipped, otherwise the ring is in Excellent condition. Estimate:$30,000 US Dollars - up.

Why is she selling it now? Did Elvis really love her? Never seem to see too many favourable comments re Ginger

I think Ginger was on her way out

I also find it odd that she's been silent for decades and has sort of appeared twice now in the last year to sell Elvis related items.

He probably loved her for a while, but was already moving on.

People tend to hate her for being too young and being the last person who saw him alive.

We blame her for going to bed and not finding Elvis sooner.

it's not reasonable, but that's it.

That is NOT the engagement ring.
All the Elvis fans know that he took out the massive diamond from his TCB ring to put into the engagement ring. That stone was 11 1/2 carats.
This ring only has small stones!
Someone is Lying!
The Auction House should be informed of this fraud...

I wonder what secrets she has kept all these years regarding Aug. 16, 1977, upstairs at Graceland?

I don't think I have ever read her account of things that happened.

Jasper you're right. This is NOT!!! The engagement ring Elvis presented Ginger with. In fact it is outrageous in the extreme to fob us off with this rubbish.

Lowell Hays made the ring for Elvis at very short notice... so ahort in fact that Lowell had to take the huge diamond from the TCB ring to have it ready in time as no diamonds of that size were available.

You can see a replica ring on Lowells web site http://www.elvisjeweler.com

This is made from the original moulds.

She has her nerve selling a ring with chips on the diamonds...and I also would like to know WHY she is surfacing NOW?
I think she was a gold digger..sorry,,but that is my opinion.

She found Elvis dead,,,called her mom, then got dressed and sometime during all that called the national enquirer.....
She has stated her mom called and asked how Elvis was....WHY? Truth is what I said above...she found him dead...then took care of HERSELF

Not more appalling than selling t-shirts , with the elvis face on.
I say it's step up...
Then we probably should think twice before we buy anything that promote a dead celeb.
Now when they are dead they have managers, I mean the that 60 minutes you guys talked about a few weeks ago.
That is more tacky and appaling than selling replica of Elvis jewelery.
But that's just my opinion!
We all se things diffrently I guess

We can agree to disagree - to me a T-shirt is a far cry from selling a replica of an item that Elvis designed and gave as a symbol of friendship and affection to people he knew and cared for

in the first, you're just putting on a fannish garment

in the second, you're putting on airs and illusions

of course, worse than selling replicas, are the people who are selling the ones Elvis gave them

Then all sorts of replicas must be abandon. Because someone designed them first. People who makes replicas of swords or something a historical person has weared in the past. What I meant is that whom are to say that just because it was designed by Elvis, therefor no one else is to use the same design? I don't get that! Of course the wearer of a Elvis designed jewelery never can feel or sense the true meanig of that piece of jewelery because it wasn't given to them by Elvis and it's not a orginal. But I am pretty sure a buyer is happy to buy it, and there is market for it. And it is better than a t-shirt, and it's better than a soap or whtever else they come up with. But I think there probably are worser way people sell Elvis stuff. And as far as a t-shirt, take a look they sell Che Guevara t-shirts, do half the people whom by that know what he stood for? No he has been reduced to be piece of commercial fashion statement, I wonder if the Guevera family earns any money on their dead family?
So I think it is double standard that it's ok to use some icons and not others. Because Che was an icon for some people.

Sorry, but I don't know how to continue, can't find the right words in english! So I'm sorry but my point is probably lost!!

But you right we agree to disagree!

it's okay to disagree, but for the actual disagreement

my object isn't that it's Elvis designed or a copy

but that what the meaning and intention of the items were

I don't understand why anyone would sell any gift given to them by Elvis...it's the only item of theirs left of him right?? I have certain ceramic items my grandmother made for me as a child before she passed, that I will never give up....it came from her and it's the last thing I have..same as things of or from Elvis...I would never in my life do that, it would be too important too personal

RIGHT ON YOU ARE !! The ring that was "supposed" to be an engagement ring was made in a rush by his jeweler...lowell...by taking the center diamond out of his TCB ring...and you are right 11 1/2 carats....

Whatever she is selling as such ring, isn't so.

NINA is also right..Ginger was on her way OUT the door..

Elvis, according to many different sources, wasn't about to marry her.
She was just there for the money and status.
