At first, I didn't notice it, but what this page tells the reader is that Presley had the most ecclecticly successful career of anyone in the music business, so eccectic in fact that even his music for kids sold enormously well.

I don't think anyone recorded as many genres of music that Elvis did.

I don't think anybody recorded with as many voices as Elvis did, either. Sometimes, within the same decade, year, even the same album, or day. Even within the same song. Check out "One sided love affair" and marvel at the multiplicity of emotions in the voice, only to realize, near the end of the song, that there's three totally different ways of enunciating the last line "cause I ain't for a one side love affair" Count them...

Correction to my earlier, which should read as follws.

"I don't think anybody recorded with as many voices as Elvis did, either. Sometimes, within the same decade, year, even the same album, or day. Even within the same song. In "One sided love affair" one marvels at the multiplicity of emotions in the voice only to realize, near the end of it, that there's actually three totally different ways of enunciating the last line "cause I ain't for a one side love affair". Count them..."

According to the RIAA latest data, which appeared today, the Elvis Christmas album has receiced a Diamond certification for both the RCA version, as the Pickwick Camdem version. this has hust been added today, which means that he has now 143 million albums certified, his 90th, 51st and 26th Gold, Platinum and multi/platinum certification. he wa salready ahead of everyone in Gold and Paltinums, but was one short of the Beatles in multi/platinums. Now he's even, with 26 apiece. he now has two diamond certifications for basically the same album. This is in addition to the triple platinum certificatioon for the original 1957 Christmas album. In terms of overall albu units, he's now 16 million agead of his nesrest competitor, Garth Brooks. And now we can safely say that, as far as the RIAA is concerned, he's really, really close to being the top overall (144 million albums plus 51.5 million singles, that's 195.5 million, against 177 plus 30, respectively, for the Beatles1, totalling 207 million).

Hi THE TRUTH HURTS!! For a period of 4 days, the RIAA database had accredited Elvis with two Diamond sales awards for what was basically the same LP, the two versions of the 1970-released 'Elvis' Christmas Album', thereby also showing an increase of 10 Million in Elvis’ sales tally, and taking it to 143 accredited sales in the USA, as you indicated. This was an RIAA error which has now been corrected whilst simultaneously adding another album which has gone Gold, the 2006 'Elvis Christmas' CD (released October 3, 2008).

We all did think it was way too good to be true, in spite of the fact that the two 1970 albums (one of which was rightly accorded the Diamond Award), did exist and were rightly catalogued, but as there is a 500,000 increase still coming from the 'Elvis Christmas' CD, then we shall drink to that!!

Elvis' new total is 133.5 million accredited US sales. The tracking of the CD just awarded the Gold Record, which is identical to those of the two Elvis LP's from 1970.

Total AIAA Accredited USA Awards
•90 = Gold
•50 = Platinum
•25 = Multi-Platinum
•01 = Diamond

Oh, but didn't RICK say the RIAA had a bias against Elvis?

The more RIAA facts Jim posts, the more of a fool Rick is shown to be.

Oh well.

Oh Well it's just a matter of time - I think afternoon in the garden will get gold - so lets just be patient

Yeah, "Afternoon in the garden" "Love Elvis" and "Christmas Duets", especially the latter, are the likelier suspects, then some of the boxes, like "Today Tomorrow and Forever", "Close up", "Live in Las Vegas" , "Hitstory" "Elvis 75" and "Artist of the Century". But nothing will give me more personal pleasure than the RIAA finally accord Gold status to "Fort LP fans only", "A date with Elvis" "Pot luck", "promised Land " and "Today". Of those that are Platinum already and should be Double platinum I cite "GI Blues", "His hand in mine", and "Elvis TV specvial". And the tewo albums, already multi/platinum, whioch should have up/dates are "Moody Blue" and "Aloha from hawaii" Of course, there's the possibility that other albums, far less known, are next in line.
