<quoted text>Now that I have a little more time, I intend to do some of these things.
Let me explain one thing, King Elvis. When Elvis was alive, I continually collected magazine articles about him, whatever interviews he did, etc. I had 12 scrapbooks full of them. I felt at the time that I might need to prove something someday. There was a lot of material written when he was alive that NEVER has made it to the internet, and is out of print now. I know that there are some people on the net who have some of them, but I no longer have access to them.
One of the things that never made it to the net, or I have never seen it, were the many times that he told the public that he would NEVER marry anyone that he thought wanted to go into show business.
I left the midwest and came to L.A and put my Elvis collection into storage. When I went back the whole collection had been stolen along with my tv, records, record player, clothes and everything else that I owned.
By the way, that was the SECOND time my whole collection had been ripped off. It probably ended up in the grubby little hands of some kid who didn't love Elvis and didn't take care of it.
Anyway, that is the reason for SOME of the things that I say someone did or said that I only REMEMBER and no longer have the sources for.
I know they still exist somewhere, but in the past I have never had the time to dig them up.
However, now I intend to start trying.
As far as the quotes from books that you want the page numbers for, I never made notes when I read them. I probably should have. But after losing my collection twice, and hating all the new books that were ever coming out about Elvis, I just got tired of trying to keep any records about him.
I never started a third collection, and outside of a few books, I don't have much.
Uhm, now that you "have a little more time", how about you stop boring everyone shitless with excerpts from your life, and start tracking down stuff that could actually prove your points?

Just a thought.

I've read the book twice, Fatty, and she did not say that.
Go on, slag, now's your chance to prove us wrong.
Get up off that fat, useless arse of yours, waddle over to the bookshelf, crack open Cilla's book, and tell us on what page she described her life withe Elvis as "those awful times".
You rotten, lying lump.
Perhaps she mentioned it at that press conference?
Slag.
YEs, she did say it. You forgot.

She fcking well did not.

Shut up, Fatty, and get the book, and tell us the page number.

You won't find it because she did not say that!

<quoted text>It has plenty of merit. Are you kidding me, that he wanted to work that backbreaking schedule? The main reason was that he had to sell the rights to his record sales to pay Priscilla. So he was living only on what he was making at the moment, not getting any money from the millions of records he sold in the past. From what he was making at the time, he paid all the employees, himself, Col Parker, etc. He had to keep working. That is why he was broke when he died.
It is true that I don't like Priscilla. But the reason I don't like her is because of the way she treated Elvis.
You say a lot of things but you never tell us where you're getting your information from. I have never heard one member of the MM say anything about Elvis mentioning that he need to make enough money to pay Priscilla. Is there any such statement by any member of the MM? Do you have anything that supports your claims, e.g., that Elvis was privy to the sale of rights and approved of the sale? Anything?! I'm not adverse to believing you if you would simply support what you say with evidence.

Why would they have to SAY that? If you just look at his work schedule, you will see that he was working more than anyone should have to work. And for heaven's sake, I don't think that even Elvis would let Parker get away with selling his rights to his music without his approval. I know Elvis was pretty dumb sometimes, but surely he would not do that.

I don't consider myself an Elvis expert. For instance, I never kept up with who his backup singers were from one day to the next, how many records he sold, etc. I just enjoyed him in the movies and his music. I did notice early on how much he seemed to love Priscilla, coming home from the army and describing her as, "the most beautiful little creature I ever laid my eyes on, and so delicate she looked as if you touched her, she would break". Before he brought her over here, movie mags said that Elvis was "withdrawn". I was glad when he sent for her, and no, there was no secret about it, Elvis made it very public.

I and most fans were very happy when he finally married her. Then afterwards to see how she betrayed him was am awful surprise.

But I never really kept track of his every action, who he recorded with and when, his record sales, etc,, the way King Elvis and some others have done.

I don't consider myself an Elvis expert.
