One Million Moms is having an affect on JC Penney's, that is for sure. In their latest email blast, they note that "As consumers, what we find tragic is a corporate office and customer service department that not only transfers customers to voicemail, but even hangs up on them rather than verses hearing their concerns." Funny how they use words like family, values, freedom, truth, and morality, yet fail to put any of those things into constructive practice.

If they used more applicable names like "We hate people who don't think and act exactly like us," they wouldn't raise as much money.

Yesterday, while on the phone with a friend, I stated that I would not set foot in a J.C. Penney store again. The reason? That stupid commercial that runs on TV with all the screaming. I drives me up the wall. I switch channels every time it comes on. Now I have to re-think my statement about not ever gong there again.

Speaking of commercials......

I can't wait for the Super Bowl Party on Sunday. I don't care much about the game, but I like watching the commericals. Hopefully, Penney's won't have any on there.

Oh, wow!

How rude!

Nazi scumbags are calling in, and they're being hung up on?!

Cry, cry, cry!

If you antigay rapists are so zealous over this that you can no longer ACT NORMAL, then go boycott them. Please. No one is interested in your goddamn crying and screeching.

Christ, I hope they are hanging up on them. I hope they're telling them what to do with themselves, and *then* hanging up on them.

Please, boycott them, AND microsoft, AND google, AND starbucks, AND macy's, and tell the world where you are going to shop or carry out any normal activities in your life anymore because your options have basically been

nullified.

Thanks.

JC Penney WANTS younger customers, and they're playing the gay game thinking it will draw them in. JC Penney has been struggling on the brink for several years now. It is a cheap store with cheap products that have had higher prices until their recent price drop. That drop and hiring Ellen are both acts of desperation, probably last gasps of life. I'm actually rather pleased they've hired a gay spokesperson. After their last breath it will appear as if it happened because of that hiring.
It's funny to me that you could actually wonder why ANYONE here would see you as one of the most hateful people on the boards.

You savage a company as if they have zero worth because they hire a gay spokesperson?! Are you out of your damn mind?

You savage a company because of this hire. Nothing, nothing matters to you but this issue and your zealous, sick obsession.

Yeah, let me explain something, the board is ACCURATE to call you savagely hateful and whatever else they're saying. This post is typical of you, and speaks volumes about your priorities. Yet I see you making posts crying about your treatment here.

You act this way, then cry about the inevitable results. Yet YOU say the same thing to THEM, that THEIR behavior brings inevitable results.

You are honest-to-Christ-Jesus a sickening, sickening human being. You personally. You specifically.

Brilliant marketing by J C Penney! They could never have afforded this amount of advertising. Penney selects a very popular gay talk show host with millions of fans that watch and love her every week. A hate group raises a stink and creates a huge buzz just at the time Penney is trying to change their image from stogie to a bit more cutting edge.
This doesn't seem to have a down side for J C Penney.
This hate group will have little effect since most people will think these are the same wing nuts who are attempting to boycott Starbucks, Macy's and others who don't fit into their "perfect little world". With a big roll of the eyes most people will think of them as another group of religious extremists on par with the Westboro Church.
I love your analysis and I think it's very clever -- in fact, it's great -- but over the last few years, I have been made decidedly uneasy by any reliance upon philosophies such as "most people will see this reasonably." They're not seeing it reasonably or else gay marriage would be recognized in all fifty states. They're not reasonable or none of these problems would exist except in fringe terms. Most people aren't seeing fast enough, and they are easily swayed to the darkness and evil of antigay lies, etc. etc. etc.

Not to impugn you or what you have said. I simply feel it my duty to voice my unease with those philosophies from time to time. Nothing substitutes for fighting the antigay as viciously as they are attempting to destroy families and the lives of children.

As a most CLEARLY zealous and even sociopathic ultraconservative (who has proven this with post after post), you overlook the fact that the very nature of the culture war in these matters is NULLIFYING your analysis and concern.

The two sides are so viciously deadlocked that companies have no CHOICE but to side with one or the other *if they side with anyone*, and it appears goddamn CLEARLY to anyone with a brain that many, many companies are siding in favor of what they see as a:

civil

rights

issue.

A boycott is going to be meaningless to them. Companies like Starbucks are beginning to see all of this as:

the cost

of doing business

in today's culture war climate.

So no, in the same way that YOU and YOUR TYPE will NOT budge even if you LOSE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE,

these companies are

not

caring about the loss of business. That's WHY they are supporting gay rights.

Then again, you never understand anything in the goddamn world except in terms of your own narrow, viciously selfish, jaw-droppingly parasitic worldview.

Since you spend an inordinate amount of time among us here on Topix, I guess, by your definition, that makes you abnormal, too.

One million mothers voluntarily coming forth, rejecting and denouncing anything and everything queer. Think about it. 1,000,000!!!!
What does this tell queers? Will they finally understand that to normal people, queers are always persona non grata.
Will queers finally get the unmistakable message: Normal people want no parts of queers.

Let's not forget about prohibition. These busy body types were the cause of that also, which ultimately led to the introduction of the personal income tax.

Verses? Really? Not even considering the sentence structure. And this is suppose to be a professional organization? I don't think so unless they're hiring fifth graders. Maybe the author was home schooled.
Heheheh. I was thinking the same thing. Pershaps JCP just got tired of dealing with uneducated people that can barely speak English.
