Show me one passage in the bible containing graphic violence (actually there are a few but you’re way too ignorant to know where they are so I feel comfortable making the challenge).
Your post is a collection of things you heard other people say that no one ever bothered to tell you were incorrect. Now you know.
Genesis 22:2 - He said, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you."

Sounds like violence to me.

Did you know that studies show that people who attend worship services regularly give three times more charity than those who don’t?
And did you know that many gays and lesbians also attend worship services regularly -- maybe even in your church, Sam?

You’re an idiot and wrong on every level. The Hebrew word for “abomination” is never used to describe divorce. Stop making stuff up. And you think the Bible is the most violent book ever? There’s an invention called the library. Utilize it. You should read Anthony Burgess’s “Clockwork Orange,” Jerzy Kosiński’s “Painted Bird” and Hubert Selby’s “Last Exit to Brooklyn.” Those are violent books. Show me one passage in the bible containing graphic violence (actually there are a few but you’re way too ignorant to know where they are so I feel comfortable making the challenge).

How about where your sick and twisted little "god" instructs the Israelites to kill everyone in Jericho. Even little babies who he instructed to have their heads bashed in on the walls. Please, your filthy, cowardly, murderous god has no business giving instructions to anyone. If what I do is against your god, then I can be assured it's probably the right/moral thing to do.

What a sweet and touching story. I'm sure that it was the wedding that both of their parents dreamed they would have as they were growing up...

That's your proof of the "most violent" book ever?

Yes, God did intend for man and woman to be together. However, he also did not intend for hate, lying, stealing, etc. So, thou should not point the finger as a sin is a sin and we all fall short.
So, let God deal with Ellen and Portia and let us worry about our turn with God. Is your record clean?

I don’t go to church. Never been to one in my life. You people that accuse others of being intolerant always tend to be the quickest to stereotype and your usually wrong. Personally I couldn’t care less what Ellen and Portia do although I think lesbians, unlike male homosexuals, are a completely phony phenomenon. It’s just annoying to see all you people who claim to be progressive sit and bash Christians for believing the way THEY believe.

You only asked for a passage from the bible you idiot, not a book and I quote your challenge above. Isn't that good enough for you? God telling someone to burn their son for the hell of it? I think the quote from Genesis has met your challenge or are you too stupid to realize that? Go stick you head up your a$$ and find something to do with your pathetic life.

Or maybe they are rational people and had a civil marriage without any sky-ghost representatives in the ceremony. You, sir, are a moron.

How are lesbians phony? What would even make you think that? And although there are the morons out there who'll bash anyone for any reason, I've seen most people bash Christians who constantly scream to have gay marriage and gays in general banned. I don't find it intolerant or bashing to call out bigotry and backwardness for what they are. All of the true Christians though, who follow Jesus's teachings of love and understanding instead of blind hatred, are just fine with me.
