Correction: Orlando Vega "delivered an extended solo" on BONGOS during the encore.

"CONGA man" Jose "Papo" Rodriguez also "delivered an extended solo during the encore."

Unsure which percussionist is being described, but both thrilled the audience, which didn't seem to get enough of their performances, or of the entire band's.

The audience kept applauding to get the band back onstage after the finish, but to no avail. Palmieri did graciously take a final bow to acknowledge the loud, enthusiastic appreciation.

Jose Claussell played timbales.

Fully deserving of mention is the exceptional saxophonist, Cuban-born Yosvany Terry. He has performed in numerous groups, including Roy Hargrove's, Gonzalo Rubalcaba's, Avishai Cohen's, Cubanismo, Steve Coleman's, Dafnis Prieto's, Dave Douglas', Jeff "Tain" Watts', Chucho Valdes' and Jane Bunnett's. His father founded Orquesta Maravillas de Florida in Cuba, in which Terry played before moving to the U.S.
