SING! SING! SING!
presents
Sing-Along with "THE ELEGANCE OF ELLINGTON"
at The Jazz Bakery (Los Angeles)
SUNDAY, MARCH 26, 2006 at 4 PM

Sing-along and SWING-along with Duke Ellington's greatest hits, including "Don't Get Around Much Anymore", "Take The 'A' Train" and "It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)".

KUSC-FM (91.5) radio host ALAN CHAPMAN narrates "The Elegance Of Ellington" with intriguing anecdotes of the Duke's life, and KKJZ-FM (88.1) radio host JAMES JANISSE recites some of Ellington's lesser-sung lyrics.

SING! SING! SING!, a nonprofit organization of singers and musicians, leads the audience in singing, with accompaniment by the RON KALINA TRIO (with CHRIS CONNER on bass and JACK LECOMPTE on drums) and Artistic Director JUDY WOLMAN on piano. The quartet VOCAL AFFAIR salutes the Duke's jazz artistry by debuting a new medley, arranged expressly for this tribute.

∑ Judy Wolman is a veteran of the Grammy-winning Gregg Smith Singers;
∑ World-class jazz harmonica player Ron Kalina is internationally acclaimed;
∑ Chris Conner's bass wizardry has been compared (by the LA Times) to Alan Broadbent's piano ease;
∑ Drummer Jack Le Compte is featured in movies such as "Bird (The Charlie Parker Story)" and "The Frank Sinatra Story";
∑ KUSC-FM (91.5) radio host Alan Chapman is nationally syndicated, and appears widely in cabaret presentations with his wife Karen Benjamin;
∑ KKJZ-FM (88.1) radio host James Janisse was master of ceremonies for the 2004 Playboy Jazz Festival;
∑ Members of Vocal Affair were selected by the Village Voice to be among 'NYCís Top Ten Acts'
