Why is it that ONLY rappers have this kind of violence and not Rock N Roll people, or other people in show business ? I love black music (NOT rap which is NOT music), but I have no idea why these people seem so intent on killing one another. Anyone care to explain ?

Care to explain how and why rap is NOT music, or will you merely continue to make blanket assumptions? And please, don't take the EASY way out, because not all rap songs sample. Enlighten us.

Where is the love? What is so great about being obsessed with violence? You can shoot and kill whole families but it won't make you feel better. Is this what needs to happen so someone can not feel powerless for a brief moment? Another man dead and the other one might as well be when they catch them and throw them in prison for life. Gangsta prankstas need to grow up.

Growing up does not equate to intelligence, or the lack thereof.

According to Alicia Keys this is the White Man's fault. There they go, blaming their problems on us again.

Rap isn't music. Its garbage that takes absolutely no talent to create.

So let me get this straight... "there was no connection to Dr Dre??" Of course there was a connection. This wouldn't have happened if there were no rap event held at this restaurant.

Hip hop event results in a shooting and no one is willing to talk to police. Sounds about right.

This is not news, it would be news if they held a rap gathering and there was no violence.

seems to me some of you are blaming this incident on rap..honestly..you cant, blame the individual for what they done..what they are doing is telling a story. but i will agree on one thing, rap isnt what it was 20 yrs ago..you want to blame someone for the lyrics..the women in videos, the violence, blame the record companies that are only giving out deals if you sold crack, shot someone, robbed, stole, have a beef with someone,ect..ect..blame them..its all about a gimmick..when nas said rap is dead..it is.but you cant blame rap for idiots doing something ignorant

To hell with an explanation, issue weapons at every rap event to the few not already packin', and let them kill each other off. They're dumb enough to do it.
