I heard a number tossed around the other day saying the Iraq Invasion was supposed to come in at about $100 Billion price unlike it's close to a trillion dollar price tag it actually will be.

After the Gulf War I the invasion of Iraq was advised against because it would have lead to nation building among other things.

I find it ironic that a politician from a party that was basically opposed to 'nation buildning' authorized an invasion/occupation like this. But then again other motives had priority.
