LVAD patient

Just wanted you to know that the LVAD is not the end of the world, but rather a new beginning!
I had heart failure last September and had an LVAD installed. With a positive attitude, I discovered that I could live a normal life, and got better and stronger every day. I was mowing the lawn, washing the car and doing weedwacking and hedge clipping.
On Fathers' day I got the call from Mt Sinai that they had a new heart for me! They did the surgery that night, I was up the next day, and out of the Hospital in 10 days. Now, after only 3-1/2 weeks I am doing more than I could do three years ago!
Hang in there with the LVAD, and you too will feel better than you have in years.
All it takes is a positive attitude, and a wife like mine, who is the best care giver you could ask for. Thanks to her, I am here today to write this.
Good luck, think positive!
Robert B.
