Little Dorrit

There are 1 comment on the The Little Professor story from Mar 30, 2009, titled Little Dorrit. In it, The Little Professor reports that:

Unlike Oliver Twist , Little Dorrit does not suffer from a surfeit of adaptations; the last one , a self-consciously "authentic" six-hour film with a badly miscast Derek Jacobi, appeared two decades ago.

Derek Jacobi "miscast". He'd better be joking. That was among Derek's finest work. That adaptation wouldn't still be known 20 years later without him. Such spirited performances such as his kept the 1988 adaptation of Little Dorrit such a excellent film and shows that films can still be works of art, even in this cheapened day of Hollywood glitz.
