the proof that marriage was so important to the hordes of protesters is that only 36,000 bothered to marry during June to November 2008

my guess is that gays are about 1% of California's population, I did the math, look below;

source:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California
California's population (2008 est.):
36,756,666

10% of that would be:
3,675,667
36,756,666 x .1 = 3,675,666.6

0.1% of that would be:
36,757
36,756,666 x .001 = 36,756.666

according to an LA Times article;
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-gay-m...
only 18,000 gay couples married during that 5 month window, even knowing that there was a possibility that prop 8 would past.
that means only 36,000 gay people are married

that figure is closer to 0.1% than 10%,
0.1%= 36,757

if marriage was so important to gays, why did only .001 of Californians eligible bother to marry?
could it be cold feet? a little shyness? not ready to make such a big commitment?

or could it be that gays are really only 1% or less, but because many are actors/actresses in movies/TV or activists that are so bigger than life that it makes it seem that they are really a larger proportion than their 1%?

You're an idiot. If you are right (you're not, but let's say you are) what are all of you right-wing lunatics so afraid of? 1% of the population has a different take on things than you - so what?

How is 1% of the population going to drastically alter the entire society's "family values" that you knuckleheads claim to need to so desperately safeguard? Homosexuality is either a big deal or it's not. You can't argue both ways.

For the same reason many straight people don't get married in a 6 month period:
Cuz marriage just really tends to get in the way of cruising the bars looking for new hot bods to have sex with?

Not many people break out 'knuckleheads' as an insult, but it is one of my personal favorites.

lets see, I prefer that they count gays in the US census, that way at least we'd know how many gays there really are, I betting its 1%

as to

one gay wedding is one too many, modern Western cultures are the only ones that are now degenerating into chaos, next thing will be pedophiles allowed to date male children to initiate them into gayhood, its called man-boy love

not even the Greeks (whose elites were more gay friendly) sanctioned gay weddings, why? because weddings were to establish families

my guess is that many gays want to force churches to preform gay weddings for starters, probably always wished for a big church wedding, my guess is that Episcopalians will already comply, ask them

Easy, knucklehead. You probably deny that nowhere in USA are lawsuits waiting to be filed to challenge the number 2 under equal protection under the U.S. constitution. You probably deny that at no time in the future in USA shall 2 men legally marry a woman, because "they love each other." 3 men won't marry 4 women "because they love each other." 2 men won't marry a dog "because they love each other." 6 men will marry "because they love each other." Marriage as an institution that for millennia has protected both women and children is toast. Marriage as an institution that exists as a joke has been born.
You probably assert that children raised under same sex parents develop emotionally, intellectually, physically, the same as children raised under heterosexual parents. You probably deny all the research showing children "raised" under same sex parents develop the same way children of divorced parents do--that is, they "have issues."
You probably assert that there are no differences between same sex parenting and heterosexual parenting. If 1% of marriages are same sex, you probably claim that no difference would be seen in American society if 99% of marriages were same sex and no one would see hordes of clueless double-dads shopping for training bras and tampons since they can do it and empathize with their daughters just like mom can. Yep. No difference.

The term "homosexual marriage" is a misnomer and oxymoron. Why do people keep using it??
