This is today's headline?

Welcome to the new face of the Courant-Channel 61 ... news about nothing, and news about as deep as a driveway rain puddle.

My my my, how far the great have fallen.

What a bunch on garbage the courant publishes.... Mis-leading of the 46 pictures there are 4 of people who were injured "Dave Matthews Band: Hartford Shows And Altercations Through The Years Photos " It was just a bunch of pictures of the band.. Nothing about "altercations except for 2 years." Courant needs bankruptcy quick.

I have to agree with most of these posters. My first thought when I saw the headline was, "This is the lead story in the Courant???? Must be a SLOW news day....or year."

What ever happened to investigative reporting?

Or as they said in the 80s, "Where's the beef?"

I had the misfortune of seeing DMB at the Jazz Fest in New Orleans several years ago, and they bored the living sh*t out of me.

I just don't get it...their songs are weak, the instrumentation is boring and they dump huge quantities of human excrement from their tour bus.

I agree and their songs wander on aimlessly, another band that needs to retire!

Got to be one of the worst bands with a horrendous sounding singer, yet people go. Listen to a little 80's Hair Metal Peeps! It would do you some good.

Funny how the Hartford police are the only real danger at these concerts. Small town police scare me.

Dave Matthews is laughing all the way to the bank. He sells out 2 and 3 shows every year at the Meadows or whatever you call it. Only Bruce Springsteen is a bigger non talent that can get away with this but unlike Springsteen Dave Matthews is a nice guy.

Don't judge DMB on their Jazz Fest performance. If you are a Fest regular, you know that the main stage has poor sound and typically bands don't put on their best performance since they are just one of hundreds of acts on any particular day. Jazz Fest is an opportunity to see smaller artists at the side stages do their thing. Stay in the Gospel or Blues Tents and avoid the Acura stage and you'll have a great time. I never go see the headliner at the end of the day as you'll always be disappointed.

And, I might add, that the MAJORITY of the crowd at DMB shows aren't there for the music. It's the party. Look at the tramps on the roof of the truck in the photos. They have no interest in the music, just the hookup, the weed and the Bud Lime. Whooo-hoooooooo!

I agree. Over thirty years they have had a few good songs, but their music is pretty pedestrian. They are on parr with a decent wedding band.Yet like Green Day and Jimmy Buffet they continue todraw large crowds.

... to see these posts that recognize Dave Matthews for what he is.

DMB is noise for people who know nothing about music but want to seem like they know something about music. Every song is a mess. He's a running joke among real musicians.

Still, he's a walking ATM, God bless him. As H.L. Mencken said, "no-one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

Furthermore, rich suburban kids need a place to get together when they're not at a psychologist's office trying to obtain an opinion, financed by their dysfunctional absentee parents, that will allow them to take untimed SATs.

Yup, boring, bland, banal. Can't understand why the kids like him so much.

Same thing goes for Phish. No roots, no songs, weak weak weak.

Okay, I'm ducking now, so BLAST AWAY!!

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
