I for one am totally tired of Brosnan's altogether too polished and debonair portrayal of James Bond.

It is time that this series be brought back to the James Bond that Ian Fleming created and which we saw in Sean Connery's first portrayl of 007 in Dr. No.

Fleming's James Bond was:
More human, less superhero - he was a "real" spy who used real gadgets, got into real trouble, the love of his life was murdered, and he didn't always win.

He fought for the "good guys" but his license to kill methods were not always very nice

He may have dressed sharply and been handsome, but he had a "cruel and sinister" face.

Ian Fleming created a realistic spy based on real knowledge of what a spy's life was like, what tools he had access to, and who his real-life enemies were. The James Bond of the last few decades (although thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining) has been a completely overblown Hollywood superhero, with a predictable formula, an obvious plot, and an ending that we all know before we get there.

Give us something new, something realistic, something terrifying and adventourous at the same time - give us the REAL James Bond - BRING ON Daniel Craig!

went to see the film last night one word awsome im a big bond fan and was worried about this choice but craig rocks (connery)2006 hes ex forces recruited to mi6 and is a scrapper as well as a smoothie craig brings a well needed edge to bond

Pierce Brosnan brought so much more to the character than his predecessors. While Connery & Moore "imortalized" the character and added sexiness to thier character, Brosnan embodied and lived the part. I have not and will not see the new movie because of my loyalty to Brosnan.

may I add craig also mentioned that'll he'd watch the previous james bonds very carefully and he will try to copy them in someways to be a good actor, Pierce might be the former james bond but that title will always remain the same to me therefore he'd always been known as james bond 007 to me!

My favorite is Pierce as LOOKS (hihi) but my favorite as an ACTOR is Connery.

I haven't seen Craig so I can't say anything about him at all.

Indeed we have lost the Bond character.
Connery imortalized the BOND character; & Moore made it fun and entertaining much like his Simon Templer character for so many years in the 60s and 70s. Brosnan tried hard to deliver a polished version of the 007 character (sometimes too polished) nevertheless he did a very good job.
Daniel Craig simply killed James Bond ! He could be 008 but not 007 anymore !
Re Casino Royal, oh well, the first 10 minutes were enetertaining, the rest sucked and did not qualify as a Bond movie.
