Maslow would turn in his grave to have his work compared to the Tibetan form of Tantric vjrayana Buddhism which has nothing to do with the needs for self fulfillment , but an esotheric form of Buddhism which many Sri Lankan buddhists decry and is not found in any of the sutras. It is supposed to be the activation of a series of energy level in the spines related to Tantra and originated in the Indian yoga of Kundalini power which has nothing to do with buddhism. Please dont interpret the teachings of Lord buddha as nothing about the cakras are in the Dhammapada or the other sutras of Buddhism.
