CREEDENCE REUNION? At age 66, John Fogerty may be mellowing. The former band he led, Creedence Clearwater Revival broke up in October 1972.

Here we go again!
Get your facts right!
"Fogerty made a business decision without consulting the other band memmbers that left them all broke"
The business deal that left them all broke was an offshore tax shelter, that they were introduced to by Fantasy record and(bassist) Stu Cooks fathers law firm gave the green light to.
So how can you say they didn't know about it.
I suspect the writer knew all this anyway,(otherwise, how could his research be so piss poor)but I guess he just wanted to jump on the band wagon of Fogerty bashing that Cook and Clifford seem to have made their No1 goal in life.
Saul Zaentz testified in court that he got the Idea to sue Fogerty for Plagarising himself after Doug Clifford came to his office with a copy of John's Centrefield album claiming "Fogerty's ripping of Creedence"
Clifford denied it ,but refused to go to court to back it up. Sorry Doug....credibility -ZERO!
Cook has been caught out lying in interviews, while trying to paint his picture of what a terrible tyrant John was.
If the writer had done some research and read some of the interviews Cook has done over the years he would find it hard to not notice that in his desperation to portray John as the villian, he has contradicted himself repeatedly. Sorry Stu....credibility -ZERO!
I realise that John's no angel, but at least from time to time he has conceded that his control freak attitude contributed to CCR's demise.
It was also that same attitude that made them what they were. A great band.
I've never once read or heard Cook or Clifford accept any of the blame due them.Everything was John's fault,if they are to be believed.
A CCR reunion could have happened a few times in the past, but every time Fogerty would sound like he was coming around,Cook,Clifford and Tom Fogerty's widow would enter into yet another deal with Fantasy records to license another one of John's songs for a commercial or TV show, and this would drive the wedge back between them again.
I realise that John's getting older and probably feels it would be good for his "soul" to reconnect with his childhood friends.
Up until about 8 years ago, when I started researching their story,a CCR reunion would have been top of my wishlist too,but now, knowing all the water that has flowed under the bridge and the bad blood between them,i have nothing but disdain for Cook and Clifford, and would be mightly disappointed in John if there was a CCR reunion.
Make your peace with Doug and Stu if you feel that's what you need to do John,But a Creedence reunion will only further muddy the memory of a band that deserved so much better, and alienate your hardcore fans, like myself.
