apparently i do cuz go online and simply type in what do Amtrak trains run off of and this is the general answer you will get...
At one time, all of Amtrak's trains were powered by diesel fuel. However, in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint and help the environment, many Amtrak trains have switched from diesel to electric power... how other way do they get the electric?? you cant store enough energy to go from Chicago to San Antonio and los angeles and 37 stops in between.... if you dont believe me, look it up, the train was called the Texas eagle... and i dont have my facts strait?? haha

True but as long as the tracks are still there it should be assumed for reasons of safety that it is active.

I have rode the texas eagle several time and you can clearly hear the deasel engine running. The train much like any other train these days uses diesel engines to generate electric and electric motors drive the wheels. You are obviously stupid as they come on here and you did not research jack shit. You just ran your cock sucker and assumed you were right because thats the type of person you are. BUT YOU ARE WRONG, HAHAHAH. This one is really gonna blow your brain but get this.... the Texas Eagle is a ROUTE not the train itself. Do you think a locomotive can run the same route every day and no down time? Damn you are stupid.

That part of the track is grown up and there is a since of abandonment to the tracks people think the track is not n use because there is no signale and because of the story's that are told I went there and the tracks are rundown there is only a sign no signals and there were weeds growing throw the tracks it looked by all accounts abandon
