Garth Brooks leads 2012 Country Music Hall of Fame class
An emotional Garth Brooks said his addition to the Country Music Hall of Fame at 50 is probably a little premature when you look at the long list of his influences who haven't yet been inducted. The "Friends in Low Places" singer transformed country music, but on Tuesday he was more interested in talking about the singers who transformed him.

Kind of a travesty that even Garth Brooks would make it into the Hall of Fame before Keith Whitley.

Definitely true, Garth Brooks is in nowhere near the same league as Keith Whitley as a singer or performer. If Whitley had lived, no one would have heard of Garth Brooks.

You guys are ignorant. This is the first time I have ever heard someone credit Keith Whitley for Garth's success. Keith was a good singer but wasn't even on the same level as Garth Brooks. Sorry that Keith died early but that doesn't make him more worthy of a spot in the hall of fame. Maybe he should've stayed off the alcohol if he wanted to be inducted..? All I have to say is Garth is back Bitc*s and he will once again steal the mainstream of country music. MWAHAHAHHA
