Did not see very much repudiation from the right to stop those kinds of slogans. The silence from that right-side of the political spectrum was deafening. I have seen similar activities from the left side of politics but their leaders and organizers openly condone such actions. I have seen those type of confrontations right in front of me.USA USA USA-is either a prime example of the kind of person we don't want in our ranks or someone just baiting an angry arguement.
Still Wondering- No, all Blacks that opposed bush didn't carry signs saying "ship him back to England". But if you saw someone at a Tea party with a sign saying "ship him back to Africa", did you also see the thousands of other signs that didn't say anything like that? I too have seen a few signs at Tea party rallies with stupid slogans but those are the exception, not the rule. I saw one that said "Bury Obamacare with Kennedy" and thought it was disgusting and in very poor taste, as did most in the Tea party movement.
Please don't judge an entire group based on the actions of a very few. Doing so is prejudiced. So I guess you could also say judging an entire group and claiming to hate that group based on the actions of a few also makes you a biggot.
For eight years I saw many Bush protesters carrying signs with very derogatory slogans, racial statements and signs depicting Bush as Hitler. I also saw Black people carrying signs like that as well. I saw people of all races, Black included buring cars, breaking windows and basically rioting at Bush protests.(Go watch some protest videos on You Tube) Does that mean all Black people feel the same way? Of course not.
So, "Still Wondering", based on your statements I'm going to have to say you are as much of a biggot as "USA USA USA". You may be a differnt kind of biggot, but you're still a biggot. BTW, if you don't know the real definition of biggot, please look it up.
So you bring in the term bigot. Based on what you have written it appears to be a weak way to mask your own feelings of guilt. I find you to be closed minded for your inability to accept the fact the right side of the political spectrum including the Republican party has done nothing to dispel the lies and distortions concerning health care (ex. death panels), the birthers, and direct racism toward the President. No not all in those movements are direct racists or bigots but when you stand silent, or try to use poor analogies (“Blacks opposed his policies. Does that make them a raciest person?”) to justify those actions of a few, I must assume it is in support of that few. It is only in this post that you show any condemnation.
