You are more than welcoming to every other group, yet intolerant to people of Christian Faith. This blog is so full of hate mongering individuals that constantly put Christians down.

Wow! Your self righteousness is showing through. You may want to take a closer look at yourself as you do not put Christianís in a very favorable light nor are you representative of what a true Christian is. I had no idea that tolerance was not part of Christianity. What planet are you from or what cult do you belong to? What bible do you read that condones such toxic mean spirited comments like the ones you just made? Iíll give you the benefit of the doubt as Iím sure you would not say such vicious hateful statements like this without first having proof. Reply to this post with your proof and if you fail to do so, I will have to question the legitimacy of your post and shrug it off to just another hateful un-American republican from a red state. I suggest when you are praying, you should thank god Americans are so tolerant; after all, we tolerate individuals such as yourself.

Why do Republicans think that Democrats aren't Christian? I keep hearing that when Barack Obama told a "Joe the Plumber" in Ohio that it was time for the rich to "spread the wealth around" in regarding to increasing taxes on the rich to benefit all; that according to John McCain was it was "UnAmerican". However, spreading the wealth around is a very Christian thought and action. Afterall, Jesus was in a time when the Romans in power had everthing and didn't care about the poor and destitute in the land, and liked it that way. I can't cite the bible word for word without looking it up, but I learned a long time ago about it's values. And none of it said hate your fellow man, or persecute those that don't agree with you. Being a Christian is more than being about hate against other people that you don't understand. There is a passage in Leviticus against Homosexuality, but in the same text there is a passage about sacrificing a bull for cursing. In the same good book, there is a total reversal against sacrificing at all. However, Jesus, the man, never utters a word against homosexuality or sacrificing animals.

So when the Republican party claims that they are the only real Christians and that if you the little guy is a true Christian you will agree with them that Homosexuality is the true evil in the world not greed, gluttony, sloth, adultery, vanity, etc..That witchcraft, a old excuse of the Catholics to personify evil and keep people in control by making everyone agree with each other because to disagree would be proof of being in league with the devil. Heretics, were Protestants, than a extreme faction called the Puritans picked up the torch to kill people in mass hysteria. Did you know that witch was a old, old word to describe a midwife, or a medicine woman/man. In other words, if she saved your sick child, she was magic and had to be destroyed. If she didn't and the child died, she was evil and had to be destroyed. Now a days, we know that medicine is not magic or evil. That witches, the kind that can perform magic and with a special word can cause perfectly normal people to drop dead or say things against someone else. The idea of a vp nominee who believes so much in witchcraft that she gets blessed for it scares me alot more than a unfortunate exercise of one's freedom of speech in a church by Reverand Wright. Although, Wright should've been more mindful of the separation of church and state than he was. But, than a lot of churches are stepping over that little constitutional law with alot of liberty. Hence I do not go to church anymore, however, to claim that I am not a Christian in the sense of my politcal affliliation, is by all definition, "UnAmerican".

I didn't say I was a democrat or republican?? I just came on this site and read through many of the comments and was shocked by the negativity of comments towards Christian beliefs and views. I asked a simple question and I received back nothing but judgement and belittlement of myself. Of which I am not bothered by, because I KNOW what and why I believe and am entitled to it as much as anyone else on this site . My spiritual mentor told me to come to this site and observe, as I am a democrat and have defended the point that the democratic party is tolerant of all types of views and beliefs. I am shocked at what I read on this site and made a comment to get a response. The question was posted as a test and the last 4 posts have given an answer and proved that I was incorrect in my thinking.

So your post was a premeditated set up? Are you sure you are a democrat? Underhanded fraudulent tactics like yours reek of right wing politics. I see that you failed to answer any of my questions so you leave me no other option than to assume you incapable of answering any of them and instead are now back peddling.

Let me ask you a question. Would you vote for a muslim, jewish, budist, agnostic or atheist president? If you answer no to any of these, you are a hater, and this is why christians get nailed. No pun intended.

Bravo Cujo!!
Why does it matter what religion the next Pres is? As long as he does good by the American people!
People need to wake up and realize this, I mean, come on, we ARE in America! Freedom of speech and religion, remember?

Yes... if the candidate had any reflection of my views or core values, I could vote for him/her. Those views don't have to reflect a belief in Christ or personal salvation.
Maybe yes... I asked a question because I am seeking answers to many questions that I have.
i still have a hard time believing that if i said that I was muslim, jewish, buddhist, agnostic, or atheist, I would have been so venomously attacked.
Your trying to check me... check yourself. I know what I believe and I don't have to answer your rhetorically ridiculous questions. Maybe if I answered them with the same contempt and tone that you ask... you could tell me hat a hypocrite I am. I'll save you the trouble so you don't have to spew any other bigoted hatred.

Why do democrats hate Christianity? There is no reason, you welcome every other group, including satanist, because democrats are all so TOLERANT!!

And your question is????? So far all I can see in your posts shown above are hateful accusations about Democrats and contempt for others. Are you saying Democrats should not be tolerant? Why do you have such disdain for other religions? If you were venomously attacked maybe it is because your original post was filled with such scorn. Iím sorry you feel you are above answering the questions while denying others the same privilege. By the way, here is the definition of a bigot:

a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

Please note the last word in the definition which is ďintoleranceĒ. If I recall, this is what you seem to be struggling with so it would appear the bigot is you. Why are you no longer defending the point that the Democratic Party is tolerant of all types of views and beliefs?

Gentlemen or ladies seeing as we are letting our hair down .Not that I have a terrible lot to let down but for what it is worth here it is.
I will tell you flat out I detest religon of all kinds.
It has caused war and misery ,divided families and nations. You want proof, just listen to yourselves right now
.Am I an athiest,to me this is a label to pin on people/together with rasicist, and every other label.
What I have is faith something as strong as any religon you care to name.
I live my life and it has been a fairly long one on one striking part of the christian bible.
The Parable of the good Sarmaritin.
Read it ,learn ,and inwardly digest it.
He helped where others would not .
He had no religon that anyone knows about.
This to me is a sign of human decency and faith in his fellowman no matter what race ,religon ,creed or sex they were.
For what I am I never have to apoligise nor fight to impress others with my pioues disposition.
We are I hope all human beings ,we all bleed red,we can or should have disagreements, with reasonable points of view without insult or threat.
If we cannot then we only lessen ourselves.
I came on this forum prepared to discuss, to enjoy differant points of view not to read hate ignorance nor stupidity.
It appears I was wrong,a pity because I have seen the possiblity with some very decent people that have posted.
There now you have it,give me one reason to seek greener pastures and I shall be gone.

Its time to let go of the politics of fear and hatred and division.
Its kept this country from thriving at every level from economics to unified problem solving, from spiritual healing to social equality.

What we all want and need is not that much different. It has just become a hateful game of how you dress it up.

Calling for tax breaks for people that usually don't get one so they can prosper and grow the economy and establish a stronger consumer base (which helps everyone) is not "Socialism" Its common sense economics.

Socialism is an across the board concept not an adjustment in the tax code.
Please get over it.

"Trickle Down Economic Facism" and expecting the wealthy to create jobs has done just that, they create jobs overseas, they hoard and they disable others. Its a pattern as old as humanity. Its time to grow out of it before grows into the monster that will devour us all. Trickle "away" (not down) economics is what we are seeing blowing up in our faces.
Its been tried a half dozen times in the last 3 decades and mathematically it has been a disaster, a devise misuse of wealth and NOT a service to the hardworking people and generations that have had to brave it out only to have it pulled away when they finally have a chance to give back... to everyone.

A "balanced" distribution of wealth is a concept of true public service AND patriotism that escapes so many people. I'm not talking about Govt/vs/the people or Communism not even the elimination of the wealthy class.
Those are scare tactics and only insects fall for them.
Social "consciousness" is NOT socialism.

So many people have to stop hiding behind the flag and false overzealous guise of being the "only" "Christian" has failed its creed, you squash everyone who is vulnerable. Just look around at the REAL casualties, both now and in the future.
Hardworking families, children (and their future), the elderly and our brave soldiers who have to stand tall for all of us even if they are supporting a fake misplaced danger.
They should be our diplomats, our hearts , our BEST, not sacrificial fodder for the greedy and the delusional. Take their faith and strength and place it somewhere that will make them even prouder of their leaders.

I'm an "Independant" and "completley devoted Christian" disgusted with desperate and divisive politics.

We have been due for change for along time. And now more than ever only CHANGE will allow us to survive as a country, a society, and as a civilization.

You might be right, I might not have been so brash but when voters vote for the one who holds a "better understanding" of god than the other, there is something wrong with that. Trust me, America has many many more problems than gay or abortion rights. It's not Christians as a whole that's the problem, but it is the evangelical nutts that piss everybody off, and it so happens that the US has more evangelicals than anywhere else in the world. This makes the US the most fanatical when it comes to christian views.
