Mary, you're so far out there that I don't even know where to start! What a loony tune!

Side note to Editor: Why do you even publish this balderdash! Is it meant to inform, or amuse?

I think she hit it exactly right. That is all we get from the left, from Obama on down is lies, deceit, partisanship and mean-spirited attacks.
They are forever trying to shut down the right and any debate, and instead falsely accuse and attack. It is why the left media whether it is radio, TV or newsprint ... they are losing the american audience.

This letter is embarrassing. I can't believe the ER lets people publicly humiliate themselves like this day after day.

First of all Mary, just because somebody feels there is a different and better way to help fix America, they shouldn't be hated or considered an Un-American enemy. Secondly, you mentioned those who re-write history. Actually, it seems Republicans are behind a concentrated effort at this time to re-write some of the 200 year+ history of this country. One of the commenters also mentioned that main-stream media is trying to shut-down the right and any debate. Dude, have you ever heard of Rush, Sean H., Glen Beck, Fox News and many others? They are probably more prevelant in the media than anybody else. And even though I don't agree with them, it doesn't make them the enemy. For God's sake people, we will never fix our country if we let the crazy people on the extreme right and left, make the problem the other sides opinion as opposed to the actual problems of war, the economy, kids going hungry, affordable health care, our vets, ect.! Let's quit attacking each other and start attacking the problems. Vote, but remember that the guy you think can fix our problems might not be the guy I think can fix 'em. It doesn't make me (or you) evil, un-American or your enemy. It makes us free.

Mary was only responding to a list from the left.
.
While I do not agree with her entire list, I can see what motivated her. Funny that so many people claiming to be so tolerant, hate on her for doing very much what they themselves are doing to her.

You know, I get sick of this reference to Sarah Palin.
I don't especially like her politics, but it has been a popular saying up there for decades, and you CAN see the outermost part of Russian territory from the outermost part of Alaskan territory.

Reasonable people want to be told the truth. With it we can deal with each other in a civil and respecful manner.

Changing Stance, Administration Now Defends Insurance Mandate as a Tax
By ROBERT PEAR
Published: July 16, 2010
WASHINGTON — When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its allies now defend the requirement as an exercise of the government’s “power to lay and collect taxes.”

And that power, they say, is even more sweeping than the federal power to regulate interstate commerce.

Administration officials say the tax argument is a linchpin of their legal case in defense of the health care overhaul and its individual mandate, now being challenged in court by more than 20 states and several private organizations.

Under the legislation signed by President Obama in March, most Americans will have to maintain “minimum essential coverage” starting in 2014. Many people will be eligible for federal subsidies to help them pay premiums.

In a brief defending the law, the Justice Department says the requirement for people to carry insurance or pay the penalty is “a valid exercise” of Congress’s power to impose taxes......

Ms. Eddy allegedly picks up a newspaper noting what those to the left hate and is then moved to tell us what she hates. Does anyone these days need to be updated on what partisans hate? Do any of us feel enlightened or better off knowing about Eddy's hatreds?

Things have gotten so ridiculous there are many people who don't really know anything about the partisan side they label themselves except that they hate people on the other side. The Tea Party puts on rallies to express what they hate but they haven't told us in coherent, practical specifics what they're for.

Are we really content to express ourselves by screams into the night bewailing that things aren't as good as we want without gathering behind a coherent, practical list of objectives that'll satisfy us? It seems so.

Maybe we spent the Bush administration taking notes from the left.
