by Lydia Saad

PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup's 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year.

11% percent of Americans say they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress, down from 17% in 2009 and a percentage point lower than the previous low for Congress, recorded in 2008.

Both Houses of congress, both parties, and o-bribe-a are trying to find a way to slip in a massive screwing on older people concerning Social Security.

Older people that have been forced to pay social security all their working lives and now are losing their jobs, which they will never be able to replace, and their personal savings will now be get kicked to the curb by a greedy, incompetent, self-serving, unconcerned government leadership.

screwing with the benefits of older workers nearing the retirement age is nothing more than purposely creating another group of people living in poverty.

You won't hear any Scumbag-0-crats propose Social Security reform this election.

No one will bring details forward but it should NOT be a "WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS" type of slogan because the ScumabgDemocrats already screwed everyone with that idiocy.

No, this needs to be a serious, open discussion with everyone having "skin in the game" to understand what is put in vs what can be taken out.

You won't ever see that from the scumbagObama. All you ever see is his sorry arse busing in Union Thugs, Drones or ACORNSCUM to nod and clap upon command. Never any debate. Obama is too thin skinned and cannot honestly debate in an open forum due to his socialist ideology.

Get him off the teleprompter and you have a laugh a minute too! ROFL!

Funny how the ScumbagCongress took a nice Pay Raise and made them Automatic.

Obama is overpaid as well. That POS will be given well over $1 Million in pay/bene's for the rest of his rotten life. Even after destroying the country! This is wrong. If you screw up as bad as he & bush, you should be cut off from lifetime Pay.

Back to your SS points: The discussion needs to start with a baseline agreement that a certain age on up will not face SS changes except for the idea that it will NO LONGER be Increased to the Inflation Rate. The costs need to become fixed.

A report from the Congressional Budget Office in March estimated that starting this year, Social Security will for the first time take in less revenue than it must pay out in benefits.

The Social Security revenue shortfall would last through 2013, then the system would collect a surplus again for two years before permanently going into the red.

When the system takes in less than it has promised to pay out, the government will need to make up the difference by paying back the surplus revenue that has been paid into Social Security over the years, but which Uncle Sam spent on other things.

That surplus -- including the interest owed -- will allow the system to continue paying out 100% of the benefits promised until roughly 2037. After that, the program would only be able to pay out 76% of promised benefits if nothing is done.

Some say that means the problem is still years away. But others think the real problem is now, since the government -- already heavily in debt -- will have to borrow more money starting this decade to pay back the Social Security trust fund unless it cuts spending and raises taxes.

The political menu of standard options for making Social Security solvent is well known....

1- Increasing the retirement age
2- Reducing growth in benefit levels
3- Raising the payroll tax

But why isn't it simplified to whatever you put in, is what you get out. Otherwise it's still a PONZI SCHEME and a Welfare program that rewards sloth equally as hard work.

A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that involves the payment of purported returns to existing investors from funds contributed by new investors.

Why do Ponzi schemes (like Social Security) collapse?

With little or no legitimate earnings, the schemes require a consistent flow of money from new investors to continue. Ponzi schemes tend to collapse when it becomes difficult to recruit new investors or when a large number of investors ask to cash out.

How did Ponzi schemes get their name?

The schemes are named after Charles Ponzi, who duped thousands of New England residents into investing in a postage stamp speculation scheme back in the 1920s. At a time when the annual interest rate for bank accounts was five percent, Ponzi promised investors that he could provide a 50% return in just 90 days.

Ponzi initially bought a small number of international mail coupons in support of his scheme, but quickly switched to using incoming funds to pay off earlier investors.

Sound familiar?

PARIS The co-author of a new book about French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy defended his sources Friday amid a media buzz over a passage that cites Michelle Obama as calling life in the White House "hell."
The unauthorized book, called "Carla et les ambitieux," or "Carla and the Ambitious Ones," describes the scene of a March dinner at the White House, during which the two first ladies were purported to have had a conversation in English in which they compared notes on their experiences as wives of presidents.(of course it was in english, Carla didn't speak eubonics)

The book claims Mrs. Obama said, "Don't even talk to me about it, it's hell. I can't stand it." POORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR BABY. Hang on sweetie, its just another two years and 20 vacations to go.

If YOU personally don't agree with legislation, it's "shoving down our throats", just like it's only "judicial activism" when you personally don't agree with the decision.

The only way to solve this is to have the people vote on national referendums on every proposed bill. But if that happens, then I want the same pay as Congress gets, since I'd be doing the job I elected THEM to do.

Face it, some things are going to be unpopular but they are still the right thing to do. WeTheSheeple are like children who at times need parents to make them eat their vegetables, turn off the tv, do their homework, and go to bed.

off the backs of drug-abusing employees, correct? I wonder if
the McMahon's ever discouraged the drug use or did they simply
not care because of the incredible amount of money they make.

That's funny, HOW MANY SOLDIERS DIED IN Afghanistan & Iraq WHILE OBAMA laughed it up eating caviar, Lobster tail and Kobe steak on any one of his vacations with Banker buds.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. How many ex-football or baseball players died yet you say nothing about NFL/MLB ownership or the presidents role in their deaths.

How many Microsoft Employees DIED from any number of legitimate or illegitimate causes but yet somehow the owner isn't going to jail. How does that pea brain of yours explain? ROFL!

Try again numbskull.
