The tax credit has just been approved for another 3 month extension! They said they could extend it again in another 3 months if necessary. Now is the time to start looking for a home before the prices and interest rates start going up again!
The Fed IRS hasn't near paid out in full for first time homebuyers rebates with factually thousands not paid! Why the IRS was given so broad a license by Obama this Spring to 'knock out' of rebate so many REAL homebuyers is purely financial as his facade cannot afford to pay them! Check all those online sites under Googling "IRS delaying first time homebuyers rebates" and it will be highly enlightning.
I have not trust in the current Administrations brand of governing.

They paid the $8,000. to Illinois. I know 2 people that bought houses last Fall, and got their tax refund in May. They both purchased Foreclosures, and both used the $8,000. to make upgrades to the property. Each has over a $30,000. equity right now. That is one idea that might work.

They will all be covered, because Obama has a printing press!! The government realizes that the tax incentives are a great boost to the real estate markets.

Shady Lady you're the Best!
"Hell, yes. Give them money to buy a house. They didn't pay for the last one, and they won't pay for this one, but how else can we sell houses?"

My daughter and her husband received their $8,000 shortly after they closed on their house.

It is a good idea for 2 reasons. Empty houses are used by gangs for illegal purposes. When people buy they usually take care of the property. We get property taxes. It is tougher to get a mortgage now, but they are attracting people with the character to appreciate the home they have, and who will pay for them.
