I muted her after the first 15 seconds. Why can't these people sing the National Anthem as it was written? With the whole world watching this event I would think we could have someone sing this song without adding a bunch of crap to it...disgusting.

The real news of the Super Bowl was the fraud. Hundreds of people were sold tickets for seats that were not there!!! If you or I did that we would be in jail. What will happen to the NFL? I hope they get jail time.

Why does the CD cover a singing error but not a case of fraud? We are talking about 100s of people and the NFL stealing their money!

She's an American citizen yet she doesn't know the words to our national anthem? That is pathetic! I hope Aguilera's name is added to the "DO NOT CALL!" list for future events.

I thought the focus was to be on the country... She is not the first to try to get the focus on her fame and personality and NOT on the National Anthem. I agree with the first post. CUT THE C**P and just sing for your country!

Oh calm down. I bet if I put you on the spot in front of millions of people, and asked you to sing it, you'd be lucky to get all the words right. Frankly, I can't blame her for missing some words, since the words are dated and difficult for anyone to remember. I mean, really, do you know what a "rampart" is, or why we "watched" them? "At the twilight's last gleaming"?????????? 9 out of 10 Americans wouldn't get the words right, and 49 out of 50 couldn't tell you the meaning of the words.

JUST SING THE SONG!!! Why do these fools think that they need to out all the drama and the theatrics into their 'performance'?

She sounded almost as bad as Fergie. It is funny how bad today's performers sound without the aid of their studio equipment.

When do they hold the contest to find the dumbest person in the U.S.A. so they can put them in charge of the entertainment for the "Super Bowl"? It's a joke every year. Hey, gets some decent entertainment and stop worrying about offending somebody. That's the reason our country is going to hell in a hand basket.

Move to N. Korea...I will help you pack after posting utter nonsense like this. Our nation's ramparts are under siege each day until the twilight's last gleaming by those like you.

Really, no excuse. But, for the sake of all, change it to America The Beautiful. The song is horrible. America deserves better.

Stop it! This is one of our role models, one who makes TONS of money off the backs of people in this country, and can't bother herself with such mundane things as patriotism, or such minutae as the words of the National Anthem.

We are part of our problem for holding them up as role models.

If I were in charge of the world of anthem-singing, I would hire the guy who sang the anthem at the Jets-Eagles playoff game. He as absolutely amazing with a strong, clear voice, and without a lot of unnecessary added flourishes. I felt so proud to be an American listening to his rendition. I wish I knew his name.

BINGO! and two thumbs up!

Hey "simple" you want Barack to change the words to something else so a person getting paid MILLIONS of dollars can remember and a simpleton like yourself can also? It's about our country under attack from the British you JackWagon!

This is why I always leave the room then the National Anthem is sung at sporting events by some pop "singer". I'm sure that any branch of the armed services, Dallas Police or Fire, or any high school in the area could have provided a band and choir to perform the National Anthem, and done it truly "to honor America", not to show off their quesionable vocal "Talents".

The anthem is too difficult for just about anyone to sing. It should be played by a band with an up tempo. Our anthem deserves respect and it should not take forever to play it.
