I bought my dad your book, learn to play guitar, by chet atkins for my father. But he showed no interest. So i gave it a try at the age of 13. Always admired chet. I bought every album played them til they where so scratched they wouldn't play any more.
I did concor playing yankee doodle & dixie at the
same time.
I have read autobiography of his life and how he struggled to make it in life. Read his books.
I received a letter from chet after meeting Earl Klugh at pontiac music & sound.
Chet invited me to madison wisconsin, May 4, 1991.
It was and honor to finally meet him in person.
We talked and joked about the nashville sound.
A hand full of change shaking, about his music,
he recorded with Elvis Presley. In nashville tnn.
Had my picture taken with him that met a lot to me.

Thank You,

Timothy L. Watkins

I do remember him from years ago. Yes he drank too much but he was a nice guy when he was not drinking. He never hurt any of my children and they loved him until he got that smelly beer breath then they stayed away from him. ( Funny ) His wife was real nice and we'd hope that turned him around but as we all know she passed away and Tim didn't do so well. Been 3 years and sorry for the family and friends.
